Today, we are looking at all racing games releasing in 2025. There are a mixture of both small and large releases across a variety of platforms. We will also show you a range of approaches to racing games. Some games are more conventional, while others blend the lines between racing games and other genres.
Our list only includes games that are rumored to release in 2025. There are some that have not yet been added to this list, as we are unsure if they will hit the stores this year.

This will be a racing game to watch out for in 2025.
NASCAR 25
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox, Switch
Release Date: Fall 2025
Developer: Monster Games
Multiplayer: Likely
In late 2023, it was announced that iRacing had acquired a game license for all NASCAR teams, meaning that a NASCAR game had been in development for the past few years. Rumors say the game will be released in the Fall of this year, but little has been mentioned.
The upcoming NASCAR 25 will be the first in five years since the end of the NASCAR Heat series. NASCAR 25 is hoped to bring completely new features and up-to-date cars and teams to gamers worldwide. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed for a complete overhaul of NASCAR racing video games.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox, Switch
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Sega AM3
Multiplayer: Online, Split screen
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds looks like a great mix of arcade racing based on realistic cars driven by our favorite Sonic characters. Racing games like these are excellent fun and provide a respite from serious racing simulator games. That’s not to say these aren’t stressful, as anyone who has played Mario Kart will tell you.
President of Sega, Shinji Utusumi, recently said there is something “next level” about this game. With the completely new approach to Sonic games with the open-world Sonic Frontiers, I have reason to believe him. So, I’m excited to see if they bring any new approaches to arcade driving games.
Project Motor Racing
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Straight4 Studios
Multiplayer: No announcement
Project Motor Racing is a triple-A simulation racing game that will hit the stores in 2025. A big partnership between Giants Software and Straight4 Studios promises to redefine simulation racing and bring gamers a completely new physics engine. With an experienced team of developers, we’re excited to see what this game will produce.
So far, there have been few announcements about the game’s development progress and gameplay. All we know is that the game is expected to be released this year.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer
Platform: PC
Release Date: January 23, 2025 (Early Access)
Developer: Genki Co. Ltd
Multiplayer: None
Tokyo Xtreme Racer hit the market early this year and has received incredible feedback so far. The game is set in futuristic Tokyo, where you’ll aim to be the fastest on the streets. It has the feel of a classic PS2 game, but with a modern look. You may think this is bad, but it is perfectly executed and accurately captures the style of that era in gaming.
The game features a range of famous Tokyo locations, including the Expressway. You can ride through the city in iconic cars of the era, all waiting to be customized to the fullest. The game has been a great success and is perfect for both casual and serious drivers.
Assetto Corsa EVO
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: January 16, 2025 (Early Access)
Developer: KUNOS Simulazioni
Multiplayer: None (Later release)
The first Assetto Corsa was an award-winning racing game from 2013 known for its realism. Now, Assetto Corsa EVO provides a modern update that pushes racing realism to the max. The game features a range of cars reproduced in excruciating detail, from road cars, to classics, all the way to hypercars. Each car’s physics and engine simulation are also accurately reproduced to give you a proper feel for each car.
Assetto Corsa EVO looks incredible. Honestly, I even love the garage view, allowing you to inspect every bit of the car. This game shows the technological development of graphics. Early Access is out now on PC if you want a taste of the game already, but you’ll probably be waiting a while for a full/console release.
JDM: Japanese Drift Master
Platform: PC (Possibly for consoles)
Release Date: March 26, 2025
Developer: Gaming Factory
Multiplayer: None
JDM brings drifting to its birthplace: Japan. Gaming Factory classifies it as a simcade game, blending realistic and carefully tuned physics with modern arcade-style graphics. There isn’t a demo yet, but the teaser videos look incredible. Not just because we see varied locations from cherry tree avenues to downtown neon streets, but the drift handling looks like incredible fun.
JDM claims to give its players over 250km of road to cover in the game, and have licensed a range of popular Japanese drift cars. You will also get the chance to fully customize your car. All in all, this is a racing game to look forward to in 2025.
Airframe Ultra
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA
Developer: Videocult, Akupara Games
Multiplayer: Online, Split-screen
Airframe Ultra blurs the lines between a racing game and a fighting game. Set in a dystopian cityscape, you will battle your opponents while driving around the mean city streets. So, not only do you have to worry about the specs of your car, but also your approach to weapons.
The aesthetic of this game looks great and I can imagine it being fun to play with friends. A demo is already available on Steam if you want to test out the Beta version.
American Motorcycle Simulator
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA
Developer: Road Studio S.A.
Multiplayer: None
American Motorcycle Simulator will allow gamers to live out their Sons of Anarchy dreams. The game stretches across a large portion of the United States, allowing you to plan and execute a road trip on a chopper.
The game requires you to take care of your motorcycle, meaning you’ll have to visit a bunch of garages in order to ensure it’s well-maintained. You can also visit dive bars and even play poker. Early looks make it look like an excellent cozy game for people who love the open road.
Apex Rush
Platform: PC
Release Date: Q1 2025
Developer: Hazardous Games
Multiplayer: None (Leaderboards)
Apex Rush is a racing game for experienced drivers who like to push their driving to the limit. The game takes place on a fictitious map that sends you flying through the sky while also dodging obstacles on barrier-free roads. If you love the GTA Stunt Races, then odds are you will love Apex Rush.
A big highlight of this game is its driving physics. The drifting looks incredible, and appears to grant players a ton of control. Additionally, I love the customization options for both cars and tracks. Unfortunately, there is no multiplayer, but you can compete against others through online leaderboards.
Early Access will soon be available on Steam. Upon launch, a variety of cars, tracks, and maps will already be available. The game is also set to receive free content updates after its release.
Descenders Next
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: RageSquid
Multiplayer: Online
Descenders Next is the only racing game that is based entirely on extreme board sports and will allow you to flip between snowboards and dirtboards to try to make it down the mountain as quickly as possible. The game isn’t short of jumps and features maps big enough to allow you to find your own fastest lines.
As it is a racing game with an extreme sports twist, you will find a range of tricks you can do to make your descent that much more stylish. There are even snow parks where you can let loose on when snowboarding.
Endurance Motorsport Series
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: KT Racing
Multiplayer: Online
The name says it all — Endurance Motorsport Series puts endurance planning first. The developers say “Endurance is one of the most demanding and comprehensive requirements in motor sport.” This is true, and games like F1 don’t go too in-depth when it comes to racing strategy. Therefore, Endurance Motorsport Series can kind of be looked at as the Football Manager of racing games.
The game centers around prior planning and your ability to adapt to changing weather and on-track incidents. You can plan races for different vehicles, from GTs to hypercars, in some of the major car manufacturers. The game also allows you to drive the cars if you can handle both the track and the team.
Exo Rally Championship
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Exbleative
Multiplayer: None (Leaderboards)
If futuristic racing is more your speed, then maybe Exo Rally Championship is worth a look. This game takes place across the far reaches of the galaxy on different planets. That means you will come across various terrains to test your adaptability to harsh environments.
You are able to customize, tune, and repair your vehicles to suit the different locations. The races follow a similar format to real-world rally events, requiring you to hit different checkpoints as fast as you can. AI is featured in this game, with generated planets and stages, meaning you should have an endless amount of race tracks to choose from.
Fatal Run 2089
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox, Switch
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: MNSTR Studio
Multiplayer: None
Fatal Run is an Atari game from the 90s that was successful due to its post-apocalyptic theme. Fatal Run 2089 brings this series to current-gen consoles. You will race across decaying cityscapes and barren wastelands to try to survive the last moments on Earth.
If that doesn’t sound hectic enough, the game features weapons and power-ups that completely change the approach to normal racing. You will get four different co-pilots who each give you unique powers to shape your playstyle. The game also features a few bosses that will provide different challenges.
Five Laps at Freddy’s
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Clickteam
Multiplayer: Split screen
Thanks to the incredible cult success of Five Nights at Freddy’s, an indy developer is now blending this popular horror game with Mario Kart. This racing game is more of a joke than a serious racing game, but it still looks like good fun as you get to play as all our favorite Fazbear friends.
The game requires battery management, and staying alive to avoid the endoskeleton. There is a demo out now if you want to see if the game is too scary for you.
Hashire Hebereke: EX
Platform: PC, Switch
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: CRT Games
Multiplayer: Online
Hashire Hebereke: EX is a modern remake of the 1994 Super Famicon racing action game. It features a cast of adorable characters running around a track to get to the finish line first. The original game features eight different characters, but this new version will include new characters. Each character has different stats when it comes to running, jumping, and swimming.
Hashire Hebereke: EX will blend the popular rise of cozy games with that of a family-friendly racing game.
Over Jump Rally
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Bonsai Rosso
Multiplayer: Online, Splitscreen, LAN
Over Jump Rally is an unofficial remake of the popular 90s rally game Sega Rally. It provides a nostalgic experience for all gamers who grew up in the early years of video games. This new version will include a range of new features while adding in all the multiplayer options you could ever want, even remote play.
I love that the HUD and gameplay have a true arcade feel. The graphics fit the modern day, but the driving style is similar to that old arcade style that we love. This game is perfect for older gamers who want to share their past with the family.
Racing Master
Platform: PC, iOS, Android
Release Date: Q3 2025
Developer: NetEase Games
Multiplayer: Online
If you’re looking for a new racing game to play on the go, Racing Master will be one to keep on your list. With a long list of licensed vehicles, car customization, and different race tracks, Racing Master is ideal for racing fans who enjoy the mobile format.
The game will feature live competitions against friends or other competitors. I personally think there is a gap in the market for a game like this, so I am eager to see some gameplay in the coming months.
Route 66 Simulator
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Grande Games, NPC Games
Multiplayer: None
Route 66 Simulator is the perfect racing game if you fancy a road trip. Instead of racing against others, you will be racing against the clock to find different parts in various locations to keep your road trip progressing smoothly. So, in addition to driving, car management is a key component of this game.
The beautiful views alone make this game worth adding to the wishlist. It allows you to drive in a first-person view in a beautiful American car through the most iconic driving route in the world.
Szrot
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Kontraktor Entertainment Bureau
Multiplayer: None
Eastern Europe’s car culture is often overlooked in video games. Szrot (meaning busted car or scrapyard in Polish) is a “CaRPG” based in Yugoslavia where you will have to navigate the underground street racing scene. You can customize and upgrade your cars before races, as well as interact with multiple characters.
I am a big fan of the Balkan region and culture, so I’m so happy to see its vibrant car scene get recognition in a video game. The aesthetic they chose portrays the region well, and the map design and architecture looks spot on.
VergeWorld
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox, Switch
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Bad Bones
Multiplayer: None
VergeWorld is a futuristic racing game that makes pod racing look like a Sunday drive. In addition to navigating difficult terrain, you will have to dodge bullets and defeat bosses to progress through the game. The developers say its like After Burner meets Wipeout, meets The Mandalorian, meets Mad Max, and from the trailers, it looks like they’ve got it bang on.
I love the look of the boss fights and the customization options. Elements like this mean that the game should never get boring and allow you to play it your own way. The retro style translates well to next-gen consoles as well, and is backed with 16-bit music.
Volt Recharge
Platform: PC
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Antique Cat Productions
Multiplayer: Online, LAN, Split Screen
Volt Recharge is a racing game that takes place in RC cars, allowing players to race across suburban settings in customizable cars against their friends. It looks like a light-hearted approach to racing games. But for me, this sits between a Hot Wheels-like game and a simulator. So, it doesn’t have the appeal of either.
Regardless, Volt Recharge should provide a fun racing experience. And, thanks to the multiple ways it allows you to play with friends, it should be a great game to have for the whole family.
Wreckfest 2
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: March 30, 2025 (Early Access)
Developer: Bugbear
Multiplayer: Online
Wreckfest 2 is for drivers who love complete chaos. It blends a demolition derby with actual racing, meaning you not only have to get around the course, but you have to survive the other drivers, too. There has been a completely new approach to the physics and crash simulations as well. Now, each dent and bash looks realistic.
Customization looks like an integral part of the game. Instead of making clean and pretty cars, you’ll be mashing parts together. The game is available through early access on the March 30, so look out for that.
Wreckreation
Platform: PC, PS, Xbox
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Three Fields Entertainment
Multiplayer: Online
Wreckreation is an open-world sandbox racing game that lets you build wild ramps and tracks across the 400-square-kilometre landscape. This is a completely unique approach to a racing game, and I’m here for it. Wreckreation will even allow us to build custom worlds with our friends.
There is a wide range of different game modes to tackle in this game. Also, customization is key; you get control over everything from the car, to the tracks, to the game modes. Overall, this game is great for the creative drivers, especially those who love stunts.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon
Platform: PC, Switch (Maybe consoles)
Release Date: TBA 2025
Developer: Clever Endeavour Games
Multiplayer: Online, Split Screen
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon could be the perfect racing game for your online crew. It’s a cozy game featuring cute characters on bikes who make their way across a wacky course. The best part is that you build the tracks yourselves, complete with obstacles and traps. Each player can add their own sections so you can use different routes.
The game lets you play with up to 8 players both locally and online, even across platforms.
