All NBA 2K25 Season Start and End Dates

Like so many other games in the past several years, NBA 2K has adopted a seasonal style of content delivery. Every month or so throughout a 2K‘s life cycle, the game receives a major update that delivers fresh content to MyTEAM and MyCAREER, bug fixes, and additional cosmetics in the form of a Season Pass. At the time of writing, NBA 2K25 is in the midst of Season 4, but there are plenty of new seasons still to come.

Seasonal updates will continue to arrive in 2K25 until the release of 2K26, which is still unknown. However, given the fact 2K releases a new game around the same time every year, we have a decent idea of when the final season is going to come in 2K25.

Before that happens, though, you can enjoy plenty of new seasonal content. The question is, when you can expect the current season to end and future seasons to arrive?

NBA 2K25 Season Release And End Dates

Assuming NBA 2K26 launches near the end of the summer in 2025, we can expect roughly four more seasonal updates to come through in 2K25. Season 4 began on January 10 and every season lasts for the same amount of time, giving us a rough idea of how many seasons are left in the game’s life cycle.

For the most part, NBA 2K seasons last for around six weeks. During this time, the current season’s Season Pass is active, allowing players to spend a little extra cash to earn various rewards, cosmetics, and boosts. Of course, any release date beyond Season 4 is considered speculation at this point. Seasons could get delayed for a variety of reasons and throw off the entire release schedule for future seasons. However, 2K has stuck to the six-week schedule so far, and with half of the planned seasons to go, it seems unlikely anything would stop Seasons 5-8 from releasing on time.

What Time Do NBA 2K25 Seasons Release?

Now that you know the dates of every 2K25 season, what about the exact times of their release? After all, you’ll want to plan accordingly when you know a season’s release date is coming up.

In every season so far, the current season ends just before midnight (ET) on the day before a new update. Then, overnight, the developers work on launching the new season and always have it ready to launch by 11 AM (ET) the next day. So, if you’re looking ahead to Season 5, you can expect Season 4 to end by midnight on February 20 and the new season to officially come out at 11 AM (ET) on February 21. The seasonal updates need to be downloaded, though, so make sure you have auto-updates enabled or you’re near your system at 11 AM (ET).

It’s also important to remember that any Season Pass content you didn’t unlock won’t be available starting with the new season in 2K25. So if you’re a few rewards short, you really want to try and grind the day before a new season’s launch and ensure you’re caught up by midnight ET. Any content you manage to unlock throughout the season will stay on your account after a new season comes out.
