There are also some rewards that are only available for players who preorder the edition they want. If you end up just purchasing an edition after the March 18 release date, then you won’t be able to earn those specific preorder bonuses.

Below, we’ll go over all of the different editions in MLB The Show 25, how to preorder, and what types of preorder bonuses you can get.

All MLB The Show 25 Editions

There are technically three different editions of MLB The Show 25, but two of them are technically the same price and look identical. The three editions are the Standard Edition, Limited Edition, and the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition can be purchased physically or digitally while the Limited Edition is only for physical copies.

The Standard and Limited Editions cost the same price, but the main difference between the two is what you get for preordering the Limited Edition. You can see the cost and rewards of each MLB The Show 25 edition below:

MLB The Show 25 Standard Edition ($69.99/$59.99 On Switch)

  • Base Game
  • 5 The Show Packs for the Diamond Dynasty mode (preorder bonus)

MLB The Show 25 Limited Edition (Physical Copy) ($69.99/$59.99 On Switch)

  • Base Game
  • 5 The Show Packs for the Diamond Dynasty mode (preorder bonus)
  • Exclusive MLB The Show Topps Trading Card (featuring one of the three cover athletes: Paul Skenes, Gunnar Henderson, Elly De La Cruz)
    • Trading Cards are only available while supplies last, so they are essentially a preorder bonus

MLB The Show 25 Digital Deluxe Edition ($99.99)

  • Base Game
  • 5 The Show Packs for the Diamond Dynasty mode
  • 4 days of early access
  • Double daily rewards
  • 20 Show Packs
  • 1 20th Anniversary Choice Pack
  • 1 Diamond Choice Pack
  • 5 Gold Choice Packs
  • 20K Stubs
  • 1 Equipment Pack
  • 1 Cover Athlete Bat Skin

All of the extra content you see listed underneath the editions, with the exception of the base game, are preorder bonuses. While the Topps Trading Cards aren’t technically classified as a preorder bonus either, chances are the card’s supply will run out before the launch on March 18, effectively making them a bonus.

Obviously, if you want to get the most out of MLB The Show 25, then you’ll want to preorder the Digital Deluxe Edition for $100. You get a ton of in-game content but most importantly, you can start playing the game up to four days in advance. That’s a huge window of time, as you’ll be able to log dozens of hours into the game before other players can even go to the main menu.

Of course, the Digital Deluxe Edition doesn’t offer the exclusive Topps Trading Card, so if you were going for a physical copy, then you will have to weigh your options. Do you go for the card or the early access plus all of the other goodies with the Digital Deluxe Edition? I’m probably going for the card personally, as you can always have extra time to play but those cards could be in high demand one day.

How To Preorder MLB The Show 25

If you liked any of the editions enough to preorder one of them, you can do so through the PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo Store or at a physical retailer. If you’re going for the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Digital Standard Edition, preordering directly from your system’s marketplace is the best way to go.

However, for physical copies, you want to turn to actual retailers. At least in the U.S., retailers such as GameStop, Best Buy, and Target are offering the Limited Edition for preorder. When the Topps Trading Cards run out of supply, though, the Limited Edition listings will turn into Standard Edition listings. There could be other retailers, such as Wal-Mart or region-specific stores, that also stock the Limited Edition prior to the launch on March 18.

Your preorder largely depends on the system you’re playing on and whether or not you want a physical or digital copy of MLB The Show 25.
