All MLB The Show 25 College Teams (So Far)

Which college baseball teams will be playable in MLB The Show 25?

Ever since the massive success that was College Football 25, it feels like college sports in video games is back and in a big way. Although we are still waiting on certain franchises to finally return to the fold — such as College Hoops 2K or MVP: NCAA Baseball — it seems that some existing sports video game franchises will piggy back on this newfound popularity and start adding in the college element to their current infrastructure. One of these games is MLB The Show 25.

As part of its innovation for its widely-played Road to the Show career mode this year, MLB The Show 25 will be introducing both high school and college baseball (aluminum bats!!!). High school will feature two-three games, whilst college will feature three-four. Because it plays such a short role in Road to the Show, San Diego Studio has obviously not licensed every university with a baseball program. Instead, it seems that there will be a small selection of colleges you can go to once your high school career is over, assuming you don’t opt to skip college altogether and head straight to the MLB Draft.

In the gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 25, the fine print during the section college and high school baseball states that only select universities will be featured in the game. An actual list of these select universities isn’t provided, but at least eight different colleges are shown in the gameplay trailer, either in gameplay or via logos on the outfield wall.

Here are the colleges confirmed to be in MLB The Show 25 based on what we’ve seen so far:

  • Tennessee Volunteers
  • LSU Tigers
  • UCLA Bruins
  • Texas Longhorns
  • TCU Horned Frogs
  • Cal State Fullerton Titans
  • Vanderbilt Commodores
  • South Carolina Gamecocks

Eight is an even number, so there’s a good chance that these eight schools will be the only ones featured in the game. But maybe there’s a surprise or two in there? We’ll see.

The presence of these specific schools should come as little surprise to diehard baseball fans. The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Paul Skenes — one of this year’s cover athletes — and Washington Nationals prospect Dylan Crews both went to LSU and were selected first and second overall, respectively, in the 2023 MLB Draft. Tennessee has also produced some top tier talent recently in Chase Dollander and Christian Moore, as has TCU with Brayden Taylor. And all of the schools listed have a storied history in college baseball, so it makes sense why they’re included.
