A woman’s experience interviewing for a server job at the sports bar chain Twin Peaks recently went viral after she documented the process online. What initially looked like a simple hiring story drew attention for one particular step in the interview that viewers found unusual.
The story comes from TikTok creator Mariah Ayers, who decided to record parts of the day she went in for the job interview. Her short clip shows the moments leading up to the meeting and what happened afterward. The video gained traction online as people reacted to how the interview unfolded.
As reported by Brobible, at the beginning of the video, Ayers is sitting in her car, preparing to head inside the restaurant. She sounds a little anxious but hopeful about the opportunity. “OK, guys, I’m here,” she says. “Wish me luck. I’m nervous.”
Things Got Weird After A Camera Was Introduced
From there, the clip jumps to a later moment when she briefly returns to her car. She explains that the interview took an interesting turn after the staff asked her to try on the uniform servers typically wear at the restaurant. According to her, the conversation with the interviewer made her feel as if she were already close to being hired.
“It’s going well so far. He’s talking to me like I have the job already,” she says. “So we’re gonna send these pictures to corporate, and hopefully they feel the same.” After that, the video shows her in the server outfit before cutting to her sitting in her car, talking about how the interview progressed. She explains that the manager first asked basic questions, similar to what most people would expect during a job interview. Eventually, though, the conversation moved into more detailed expectations for the position.
“We went through the guidelines and stuff, makeup and everything,” she said. During the process, Ayers says she even needed help getting the uniform on correctly. She mentioned that the top part of the outfit was not easy to figure out at first. “Y’all, that top was tight, okay?” she says. “I’m already little and petite, and I was in there struggling.”
The moment that caught the most attention from viewers came next. According to Ayers, once she stepped out wearing the uniform, two managers were waiting for her. They then took several photos of her from different angles. “So I walked out. Manager standing there with another manager,” she says. “And they take a picture from the front, the side, the back.”
She also recalled a comment the manager made during that moment. “You’re gonna have all the people feeling bad about themselves,” she recalls the manager telling her. According to Ayers, the purpose of the photos was to send them to the company’s corporate office for approval. Shortly afterward, she says the manager told her that she had been approved and introduced her to the restaurant’s general manager.
During that conversation, the general manager reportedly asked about her previous experience working as a server and what kind of income she made in past jobs. “He asked me where I served before, how much I made,” she says. “He was telling me, like, ‘No, you’re gonna make bank.’”
By the end of the video, Ayers seems excited about the outcome of the interview and the fact that she was hired. “I am your new Twin Peaks girl,” she says. “That was so easy. Probably the easiest interview I’ve ever done.”
The video sparked plenty of reactions in the comments section. Some viewers claimed the photo step was common in the hiring process, while others were skeptical about the explanation that the pictures were being sent to corporate. One commenter suggested the photos might actually be used internally to track employees’ appearance over time, though that claim was not confirmed.
There were also online discussions from people who said they had gone through a similar process when applying to work at the restaurant. In some cases, applicants said management told them their photos would be reviewed by corporate before they were officially hired. The incident comes after a Twin Peaks server had a weird interaction with a customer.
While there is no clear confirmation of exactly how those photos are used, some online reports suggest the company may have strict expectations for how servers present themselves. Several people who say they worked there claimed managers sometimes addressed changes in employees’ appearance over time.
