A select group of people is being offered tickets to the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House, with the price reportedly set at $1.5 million per ticket. The event is scheduled for June 14 and is meant to celebrate 250 years of the United States. It also happens to fall on the 80th birthday of Donald Trump, who has a close friendship with UFC CEO Dana White.
Dana White recently confirmed that around 4,300 people will be in attendance on the White House lawn, reports Brobible. White said, “So there’s going to be 4,300 people there. I just literally went over it right now, 4,300 people, and most of them will be military.” He also made it clear that the event is primarily a thank you to the military.
For those not among the guests, the UFC is setting up screens and stages at the Ellipse, a large park just across the street from the White House. White said, “If you are a fan of the UFC, and especially if you’ve never been to Washington DC, we’re gonna give away about 85,000 tickets. There’s a process, you have to register for tickets, and they’re free, but you should come to Washington DC that week. We’re gonna be doing all kinds of things in DC for fans.”
The $1.5 million UFC White House ticket comes with a long list of perks
Regarding the exclusive $1.5 million tier, reporter Ariel Helwani of Uncrowned has said these spots are being described as a “partner investment.” As Helwani explained, “Partner investment is what it’s being called. USA Freedom 250, June 12th, June 14th. This is what you’re getting. This is the offer, okay?”
It is also worth noting that the UFC has stopped selling tickets to general fans, with security concerns believed to be behind that decision. The main event of UFC Freedom 250 will feature lightweight champion Ilia Topuria going up against interim title holder Justin Gaethje. Also on the card, Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will fight for the interim heavyweight belt.
According to The Independent, the rest of the card includes Michael Chandler versus Mauricio Ruffy at lightweight, a middleweight bout between Bo Nickal and Kyle Daukaus, Sean O’Malley taking on Aiemann Zahabi at bantamweight, and Steve Garcia facing Diego Lopes in the featherweight division.
A heavyweight fight between Josh Hokit and Derrick Lewis was also added to the card after Donald Trump watched Hokit compete against Curtis Blaydes in May. The fight was added to the schedule on the very same night that the Hokit versus Blaydes contest took place.
With June 14 approaching, the UFC is clearly working to make this a big event for both high-end partners and everyday fans. Dana White has also spoken about the one factor that could cancel the White House fight, showing that the road to fight night is not without its challenges.
