A Beverage Cart Girl Declined A 'Sweaty And Gross' Hug From A Regular, But His Disturbing Question After Left Her Completely Frozen

She was stunned.

Working as a beverage cart attendant on a golf course might seem like a relaxed and even fun job from the outside. Many people picture it as simply driving around, serving drinks, and enjoying time outdoors. But as more workers share their experiences online, a different side of the job has started to come into focus, one that includes dealing with uncomfortable and sometimes inappropriate behavior from customers.

Social media has become a space where these workers share what they encounter during their shifts. While some moments are harmless or even entertaining, others highlight the challenges of interacting closely with strangers in a setting where boundaries are not always respected. Stories like these tend to resonate because they reveal situations that are more common than many people might expect.

As reported by BroBible, a woman recently added her experience to that growing conversation. TikTok creator Ari Uribes shared a story from her time working as a beverage cart attendant, posting a video that quickly went viral. In the caption, she reflected on how easy it is to forget the downsides of the job until something uncomfortable happens. “I’ve been missing bev cart so much lately that i forgot how quick s— gets weird (this is a draft),” she wrote.

The Man Instanly Became Creepier

Her story started with what seemed like a simple request from a golfer. “So this guy asked me for a hug, right?” she says. Instead of going along with it, she immediately turned him down and questioned why he would even ask. “I tell him, ‘No.’ I say, ‘No. Why would I hug you?’”

She also made it clear that the conditions made the request even less appropriate. “’Also, it’s like 100 degrees out. You’re sweaty and gross,’” she recalls telling him. From her perspective, it was a straightforward and reasonable response given the situation.

The man, however, did not take her refusal well. According to Uribes, he pushed back on what she said rather than respecting her answer. “He’s like, ‘That’s kind of mean, don’t you think?’” she explains. Even then, she stood her ground and did not soften her response. “I’m like, ‘It’s not mean. It’s just—that’s gross,’” she says she told him.

What happened next is what made the interaction especially uncomfortable. The man shifted the conversation in a way that crossed a clear line. “And he’s like, ‘So I’m gonna ask you a question…’” she says, recalling how the tone suddenly changed.

He then made an explicit remark that caught her off guard. “When your boyfriend’s f—— you, his sweat doesn’t ever drip on your face?” she says the man asked. After saying it, he reportedly just stared at her, waiting for a response. “He’s just looking at me [with] an eyebrow raised.”

The moment left her stunned, and she summed up her reaction with a simple thought. “Why do men…” she says, trailing off. It was a brief comment, but it captured the frustration behind the entire experience.

Stories like hers are not isolated incidents. Other beverage cart attendants have spoken about similar encounters, describing how some customers make inappropriate comments or behave in ways that make them uncomfortable. In some cases, workers have said they deal with people who become too physical or ignore personal boundaries altogether.

There have even been reports of specific types of customers being more likely to act this way. Some workers say older men are often the ones who push boundaries the most, though experiences can vary from course to course. Regardless of who is involved, the pattern is consistent enough that many in the role recognize it immediately.

After Uribes shared her video, viewers quickly reacted in the comments. Many people expressed sympathy and support, acknowledging how uncomfortable the situation must have been. One person wrote, “I’m sorry you had to go through that girl, don’t let the creeps in the comments get to you.”

Several viewers also talked about how they would have handled the situation differently if they had witnessed it in person. One comment read, “If I heard that from a playing partner I would make him apologize to you immediately. I’m sorry that interaction happened to you..” That response reflects how many people believe bystanders should step in when behavior crosses a line.

In the end, her story sheds light on a reality that often goes unnoticed. While the job may appear easygoing from the outside, it can involve navigating uncomfortable interactions that go far beyond serving drinks. For many beverage cart attendants, dealing with unpredictable behavior is simply part of the experience.
