TEAM NEWS:

The Texans did everything they needed in order to pickup the preseason win at home against Chicago.

The Texans released TE Jed Bennett, RG Melquan Pleasant and FS Andy Levine*as they make *first round of cuts to get to 59 on the active roster, after Saturdays contest with the Bears.

The Texans lost LLB Jesse Nading for 2 weeks with broken ribs and placed WR Jeff Maehl on injured reserve with a broken collarbone after this weeks game with Chicago.

LEAGUE NEWS:

While some might be worried to see Jamaal Charles running so hard and picking up 3 TDs in a preseason win, it does show he is prepared.

Texans lose MLB Darryl Sharpton for 5 weeks with a broken collarbone.

CB Brandon Harris (pulled groin) and WR Keshawn Martin (abdominal tear) will each miss next weeks preseason game against Chicago

LEAGUE NEWS:

The Ravens have signed right defensive end Osi Umenyiora to a 1-yr deal worth $1.5m.

A nice little preseason road win this week for the Raiders in Houston.

WR Greg Jennings expects big things our of himself every year, and the Patriots will expect the same now that they're paying him $9.0m in a 1-yr deal.

It probably wasnt smart to leave HB LeSean McCoy in to score 4 TDs in a preseason win, but Eagles head coach Lovie Smith wants to set the tone for the rest of the season.

WR Larry Fitsgerald stood at the forefront of a 38-27 preseason win for the Cardinals with two TD receptions.

The Broncos kept their desire to sign WR Wes Welker under wraps, that is until they signed him to a 1-yr deal worth $5.0m

TEAM NEWS:

DT Shaun Cody and the Texans agree to a 1-yr deal that will pay him $810k.

The preseason just loves to sap people of their health, and todays victim is* HB*Arian Foster. He will miss seven weeks*with a broken collarbone.

LEAGUE NEWS:

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced this year's class of Hall of Famers, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed have been selected.

Many felt LB London Fletcher deserved to be enshrined, the the voters disagreed.

WR Terrell Owens is one of many players on*a path to the Hall of Fame, but no jacket yet.

WR Randy Moss might be considered Pro Football Hall of Fame worthy, but he'll have to wait another year for that honor.

MLB Tim Dobbins and the Texans were apparently not seeing eye to eye as a contract offer by the team was rejected.

After an individual workout, Arizona DE/OLB*Willie Burns*announced he would play DE in the NFL.

It was a solid workout at pro day for UCLA HB D'Cota Bell, but scouts still cant decide if he's worthy of a top 10 selection.

While no ones calling Butler QB Danny Martens the next Tom Brady, one team would be wise to spend a seventh round pick on him.

It was a strong combine performance by Utah WR Akia Green, but no one seemed to notice. In order for him to move up, scouts are expecting an even better showing at his pro day.

Outstanding combine for Nevada QB Austin Duncan has most scouts saying he'll be the first QB chosen at #6 overall.

A blazing 40-yard dashtime out of UCLA HB D'Cota Bell has scouts eager to see what he can do.

Who will the Seahawks target with the 50th pick they've just aquired form the Dolphins?

The Chiefs and Cardinals were able to come to terms on a trade that includes the 47th pick in the NFL draft heading to the Chiefs.

The St Louis Rams have acquired the 17th pick in this years NFL draft from the New Englans Patriots.

Just as the Seahawks hoped for, Montana's LT Keenan Vincent was there when it was time to make the pick.

Just as we all tought, the Dolphins selected QB Jordan Norwell out of Louisville in the first round of the NFL draft.

The Dylan Brown era begins as he was taken in the first round by the Browns.

HB Jamell Ramsey from Southern Miss was drafted as the 11th pick overall by Pittsburgh.

The COlts drafted WR Tercel Dean from Arizona, who will look to make an impact immediately.

New Orleans fans rejoice, CB Julian Brown form Iowa State was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft.

Continuing to prepare for the future, the Bears have selected CB Roderick Buice out San Jose St. with the 118th pick in the NFL draft.
