A very dominant defensive performance by UTSA today as they shutout the Arizona Wildcats, 14-0. The defensive was very active in creating turnovers which the offense converted two of them into touchdowns. UTSA is now 4-2 (3-0), and they travel to Houston to face Rice next week.

Another solid defensive effort for UTSA has lead to their third consecutive victory, 14-7 over Florida International. The win brings the Roadrunners to 3-2 (3-0) on the season. Cornerback, Jeremy Hall, scored a touchdown on an interception return late in the first half and allowed UTSA to take a 7-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Eric Soza tacked on another score on a nine yard pass to Kenny Harrison to take a 14-0 lead. Shortly after extending the lead, Jake Medlock connected on a 70 yard touchdown pass to Willis Wright to bring the score to 14-7, and the UTSA defense would hold steady from there. One impressive stat for the Roadrunner defense: Negative 79 rushing yards allowed. What an impressive day for this team.

A very unspectacular offensive game for UTSA usually means a loss, right? Well this time, if you thought that, you would be wrong. The Roadrunners offensive struggles were completely over-shadowed by a phenomenal defensive performance today. UTSA got the 7-0 shutout victory against UAB today, on the strength of David Glasco's five yard touchdown run and a very stingy defense that created four turnovers. Those turnovers included interceptions by Triston Wade, Nic Johnston and the school career interceptions leader, Darrien Starling, and a key fumble recovery by Erik Brown. UTSA will be at home next week to take on new Conference USA cross-division rival Florida International.
UTSA's defense had so much built up anger after performing horribly against New Mexico and Oklahoma State, they just had to take it out on somebody. Unfortunately for Marshall, it just happened to be them. The offense woke up for the Roadrunners as David Glasco found the endzone on a three yard run midway through the first quarter and the defense held strong ending the first quarter on top 7-0. The game was tied going into halftime, thanks to a 10 yard scramble by Marshall quarterback, Rakeem Cato. The UTSA defense shut Marshall down in the second half though, as key interceptions by Erik Brown and Steven Kurfehs allowed UTSA to capitalize on those mistakes by backup quarterback A.J. Graham. Cato left the game shortly after halftime with an injured arm, which was later found out to be fractured. Other injury news during the game was Marshall running back Travon Van. He left the game with a concussion and will be questionable for next week's game, leaving them down to third string running back, Tyrone Jackson. Early in the third quarter, Sean Ianno tacked on a 17 yard field goal to give UTSA the lead for good, and then quarterback Eric Soza took over from there. Soza threw three, second half touchdown passes. The first was a 16 yarder to Kam Jones, the second a 12 yard strike to Kenny Harrison and the third was a 30 yard bomb to Jones. On an additional note, linebacker Steven Kurfehs set a new school record for interceptions in one game.

The UTSA Roadrunners fall to Oklahoma State 27-10. Things started out great for UTSA going up 7-0 on a fumble recovery in the endzone by Jeremy Hall. Oklahoma State tied it up early in the second quarter on a short, Jeremy Smith touchdown run. UTSA took control again on a 26 yard field goal on the next possesion. However, Oklahoma State took control from there on out, with Clint Chelf connecting with Matthew McClaren on a 10 yard pass to go up 14-10, and hooking up with Josh Stewart as time expired in the first half to take a 21-10 halftime lead. UTSA came out fired up in the second half, but Jeremy Smith's one yard plunge late in the third quarter seemed to take all the wind out of UTSA's sails.
