skitch's Blog

However, for the sake of this blog, I am discarding my usual live-for-the-now lifestyle and presenting you all with a "To Do List" for my twenty-first year on this magical planet. I hope to accomplish all of these goals, and then some, and I will use this blog to let you all know what I have or have not achieved. Without further adieu, here is what I've come up with...
Twenty-One Done Right
This is a one time thing, and has to be accomplished at my birthday celebration to be considered completed. I have to take down twenty-one drinks. These drinks can be consumed in any order and do not all have to be the same type. One beer, one shot, or one liquor concoction are all considered one drink. I have slowed down in my alcohol intake, so this will be a little tougher to do than it would've been a year or so ago... 20G
Double Up v1.0
In this installment of Double Up, I hope to, um, have relations with a woman twice my age. It's been a dream of mine for awhile to take a ride on the Cougar Express, and I figure the time is now. Hell, it HAS to be now, anything over 42 may be a little odd and nausea-inducing. 30G
Double Up v2.0
Version 2 is probably the one most of you would throw on a similar list, as this achievement will only be considered unlocked when I, um, have relations with two women at the same time. Here's to hoping that the kind of girls that would double up on me don't require a million dollars... 30G
What Are You, Crazy?
This is another thing I've wanted to do for awhile, and while it's not in the same ballpark, sport, or even the same league as the first two achievements, skydiving has to be done. There are a few people I know that are willing to jump out of a plane with me, and I know of a couple spots this could be done around here. Shouldn't be too difficult. 10G
Congratulations!
Since leaving NCSU, I've had a tough time figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I'm currently working at FedEx, and while it's a great job, I don't want it to be forever. I've decided since I love interacting with people, love the bar scene, and make good drinks... bartending MUST be my calling, right? Whatever the case, I'm attending bartending school this year, and with my track record of education since high school not being stellar, I've dubbed graduating an achievement. 10G
What Can I Get Ya?
I suppose getting a bartending gig goes hand-in-hand with the last item, but I feel like it is an achievement in its own right. The bartending school I plan to attend has a good job placement program, and this is the main reason I'm attending it to begin with. Major country clubs and nicer bars in the area have "pipelines", so to speak, with the school, and love hiring graduates. Landing a good job after finishing the classes could be easy, but I expect it to be tough. 20G
Find a New Humble Abode
A couple of months ago, I moved back in with my parents after complications with my roommates and my out of control, at the time, lifestyle. I am 99.9% sure I have a subleaser for that apartment now, and will be done with that place after January. Therefore, I'd absolutely LOVE to get out on my own again. With nearly $500 extra in my pocket every month, I should be able to afford it again. Plus, if bartending treats me well, I could get an even nicer place than before. The economy is the only thing that scares me at the moment. 20G
New Workout Plan
I admit, since graduating high school in 2006, I haven't lifted a SINGLE weight. Yes, I work in the shipping industry, so I obviously get some exercise in, but I'd like to gain some muscle mass again. I've lost around 10lbs since HS graduation, and I'd like to get that back (with muscle, of course). 10G
That's Ink-redible
In October, I finally got my first tattoo. It's a roman numeral 11, graffiti style, on my left shoulder. This tattoo was to honor my grandfather, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates (his number was eleven...). He decided not to go to support his wife and two kids, and eventually helped to raise me when I was young. The achievement is to get at least three more tattoos. I already have the next one planned, but the explanation will come only after I get it... 10G
When a Quitter Does Win...
I started smoking over a year ago, and I'm deadset on quitting. Sure, I enjoy the hell out of it while drinking, but it seriously disgusts me and makes me feel like crap 90% of the time. I've tried quitting several times, but have obviously been unsuccessful. I may in fact quit smoking before my twenty-first birthday... but I doubt it. 30G
Why So Serious?
Okay, all jokes aside... My final goal (at the time of this post) for my twenty-first year is to find a girl I seriously care about and start a serious relationship. Sure, these kinds of things don't just happen right away, and you can't exactly predict when and where they will start. However, after breaking it off with my girlfriend of two years about a year ago, I've just been one of "those guys". Sleeping around does in fact get old, and I think I'm ready to get back into the relationship thing. Wish me luck... 30G
That's all for now, but I will be back with any updates on unlocked achievements and/or additions to the list. Thanks for reading, and 30G's for you.

Did I give you the idea for Double Up v1.0?
I remember we talked about it during Duty before. You got to do it man.
As for everything else, remember one thing....
No man is a failure who has friends.
