Do you remember Joe Montana Football?

About a year ago, there was a lot of speculation that a major big-boxed, third-party title was in development. In what came as a dissapointment for many, those rumors were simply not true as Joe Montana Football turned out to be a rather high end looking mobile football game.

Apparently, after a few months of hibernation, Superstar Games' frontman Damon Grow is back on Twitter and promising new information is coming on the game before the Games Developer Conference on March 14.

You can read what we know on the game in this interview from E3 with Grow. With GDC coming up in just a few weeks, its likely that whatever Superstar Games has cooking will see the light of day very soon. We're definitely looking forward to seeing what Grow and his crew have done with Joe Montana Football over the past several months.

#morethanarosterupdate lol. Seriously though kudos to Grow for having the fortitude to show his face again. The whole way he went about promoting this game left a lot of people out in the cold.

I would love something like All Pro Football 2k16.

I'm afraid that what we'll get instead is some sort of Oculus Rift tie-in football thing that'll be as good as Madden with a Wii remote (i.e., not very)

2020

- Trump wins
- Aliens confirmed
- Scientology surpasses Abrahamic relgions as most popular
- JMF releases...on mobile

One of these will happen

I'll save us all the trouble and map out exactly how the next 4-5 months will go:

Twitter spams building up the game, and people talking about how simulation it is going to be, and that it will kill Madden.

Cryptic updates, which will only embolden the tinfoil hat wearers and conspiracy theorists

More hype, bickering and build up over Twitter..probably right around E-3.

Once Madden 17 E-3 footage and info drops, an overwhelmed Damon Grow will unveil an underwhelming, feature lacking, bug riddled, mess of a mobile game.

Damon Grow gets tarred and feather over YouTube & Twitter...and disappears into oblivion.

Should have simply waited until March 15th, 2016 to post the actual information.

Come March 14th 2016 .... I can see it now .... #What A Let Down.

Year 2017, same old story.
Year 2018, same old story.
Year 2019, same old story.
Year 2020, where the heck is JMF?

2kfootball will probably come back way before JMF gets released.

Don't forget the anonymous post, claiming it's teaming up with 2k on development, and the people buying wholeheartedly in to it, despite people here who know people at 2k denying it.

So right after coming back from his hibernation, Grow posts about the game, and then retweets 2 posts about VR. Will JMF be the first VR football sim?

Not that I don't feel the same way, but ever since the E-3 debacle, Grow has consistently said the game would release this spring on Apple products. March 15 news and upcoming release fits the timeline he gave us.

Frankly, I think he was being honest at E3. I've never seen a more terrified, pitiful expression than I did then. That was a man telling inconvenient truths football gamers didn't want to hear. That JMF is a generic, mobile game not releasing til spring or summer 2016.

I'm interested to see what we get. I want a new football game to try for a change.

But if it's Apple, why is he retweeting something about his company's logo at a Samsung conference?

Good question. What is Samsung considered? Ios or Android?

As of right now it's only mobile. If it does well on mobile they are going to bring it to PC. If it does well on PC it will go to consoles.

Damon took everyone here for a ride a year back, Im not holding my breath.

Remember the Post?
The Twitter link about MS?
The 2K references?
The screen shot with the "Xbox Green" banner?

Im not holding my breath, this guy is tool.

There's no iOS VR solution currently (Rift doesn't support it) and Samsung has their VR platform, so any VR stuff would likely be after the iOS release unless something change (which it may have, given the Samsung stuff).

The first Rifts are shipping in March though...

This thread is kinda mean, in the main forum display it listed as 'New Info On Joe Montana...', lol.

I hope this can shed some light on things:

Interesting video.

We'll see where this goes.

Having Samsung's backing is a huge development.

With the emphasis on being under NDA I'm surprised he was comfortable saying specifically Android is now first.

Good stuff otherwise.
