MotoGP 24 Developers Provide New Gameplay Details

MotoGP 24 lead game designer Stefano Talarico and gameplay designer Luca Pellizzer discuss all of the gameplay and quality of live improvements in their latest Q&A. The team decided to simplify the gameplay this year with an easy to learn, hard to master approach, making it easier to avoid falls and get a feel for the bike with a deep focus on braking.

With the introduction of MotoGP Stewards above all, the Career has made a big leap forward: the races are beautiful to race. There’s more scuffle but less aggression because both the player and the AI are under a watchful eye. The AI realizes the penalties it could incur if it does not play fair and behaves accordingly: this makes the races not only unbiased but also more competitive and consequently more fun, because the AI’s intent is always to battle with you but now it has to consider the MotoGP Stewards.

The Q&A is fairly deep going over adaptive difficulty, bike agility and stability, fuel management, dynamic weather,  flag-to-flag and concerns of AI competitiveness returning to the pits. So while the dev team did mention simplifying the gameplay, there is still realism to be had.

Milestone also included Celestino Vietti and Filippo Farioli, two emerging talents from Moto2 and Moto3, to collaborate with the development team and offer insights on the physics, particularly focusing on corner entry and exit phases. Check out the video below.

MotoGP 24 will release on May 2 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game will feature all of the official riders and tracks of the 2024 season for the MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE categories along with a new Riders Market, Stewards and more.
