Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR News Post

The trial version of Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR arrives for EA Access subscribers on July 9, but the bigger news is that it will give users 10 hours of gameplay, instead of the 6 hours it had been in previously released sports video games.

Battlefield Hardline also gave users 10 hours of gameplay, when it was released in March. This leads us to believe EA Access trial games going forward, will give users 10 hours of gameplay, instead of 6. For Xbox One users, EA Access continues to be a great value.

We have contacted EA, if we get an official response, we will update this post.

Still a bummer nothing will be offered for the ps4. Wish they would at least give us a demo, and X1 still will get the trail version.

Why does Sony not let the GAMERS choose what is a good value for them.. Never understood why the companies claim what is good value for our personal use.

Agreed. Let the consumers decide. Money talks.

Nice!! I never thought 6 hours was enough time. Hell, it usually takes me longer to download it than I'd have in time to spend playing it. So, this is a welcome change for me. Hopefully it's not just with this game, but it's with all of them.

10 hours will give me a nice chance to get a few rounds in and decide if I'm buying it or not.

because, in sony's case here, telling us that ea access is poor value is really code for "we're scared this will eat into the sales of our psn now service".

sony doesnt want the competition.

Exciting news! I'll have some time on the 10th to give a good scrubbing. I'll try to provide helpful information/criticism.

If MLB The Show wasn't exclusive to Sony, I'd definitely have an XBox One instead. The Show gets the most play around my house, however, so it's a moot point. Haha. Nonetheless, this EA Access stuff sounds pretty cool and I know for sure I'd already have several games through it. The 10 hours of Rory McIlroy is a very nice perk too. I'll be looking forward to reading some of the opinions of the hardcore golf gamers here at OS.

Looking forward to the impressions. I am on the fence for this game.

Maybe they will have a Mickelson Money Laundering Mini-Game. Fingers crossed.

EA Access is unbelievably good. From titanfall, battlefield 4, Madden 15, peggle, garden warfare, fifa 15, NHL 15....all for 30 a year...holy crap.

Here's a new video that will whet your appetites for what you'll be able to do starting July 9th on your XB1's

Not gonna lie. It sure will feel nice to lace up a pair of Nike golf shoes again and swing my Ping G30 8 iron from about 150 yards out from the green. Yes!!!

6 more days!!

Question:

I saw in the Store on the Xbox One that EA Access goes for $29.99 for a yearly subscription and $4.99 for a monthly subscription. You cannot use your Microsoft account to pay for these. Rather, EA requires you to enter in your credit card number and informs you that the charge will also "automatically renew" indefinitely (unless you cancel, I guess).

There is an option to "Use a code", but apparently this is not one of the codes you can buy for the Xbox/Microsoft? Rather, from what I've seen, you have to go to Gamestop and buy an "EA Access code" from them at the register (apparently they only sell a yearly EA Access code), and then they will give you the code number. Can anyone confirm this? And, do you still need to enter in a credit card in if you buy one of these EA Access code's from GameStop?

I'm trying to avoid having to enter a credit card number for any of this stuff.

I wish I could help you, but I've never tried the code number purchase at Gamestop. I wasn't even aware there was a monthly EA Access option. I know one thing, I've gotten my $29.99 worth out of it every year for Vault and Early Access games.

Just an FYI for anyone interested: I was able to buy the yearly EA Access code at GameStop; enter it in when purchasing EA Access on the XboxOne; and no credit card was required.

IIRC, if you have pre-ordered from Xbox Live, I don't think you have to pre-download as it is already on your machine and ready to play using EA Access digitally. Hope that is correct as I have it already downloaded to my hard drive.....if not, hope someone can jump in to clarify.
