Axis Football Overview

Axis Football is a high-quality, 3D American Football Game - not a simulator or manager. Choose from 32 team and play in either season mode or a quick match. A great alternative to Madden, Axis Football features excellent controls and a unique mouse-aimed passing system that gives unprecedented accuracy and control of where the ball is thrown. Unlike the few other football games, Axis Football was specifically designed for play on a computer and takes full advantage of the mouse/keyboard controls.

Teams and Rosters

All 32 cities from the NFL are represented in Axis Football. Each team features its own ranking in passing, running, pass defense, run defense, and special teams. Additionally, each player in the game comes complete with their own stats for all of the various football metrics (speed, tackling, blocking, etc.)

New in Axis Football 2015

If you've played the 2014 version, you might be interested to hear of the features we've added in this year's installment.
  • Randomized season schedules. No more playing the same teams in the same weeks every season!
  • Updated team stats. Some teams got better... some got worse! Find out how your favorite team fared.
  • Updated team rosters
  • Added end zone graphics to the field. The home team's graphic will be shown.
  • Added players to the sidelines.
  • Improved stadium graphics and shadows.
  • Added two environmental conditions: Rain and Snow. These conditions have a random chance of occurring during season mode and have a slight effect on ball handling and catching.

Will I really be the first one to comment on this?

So much wrong in that trailer, but I'll likely give it a look just because. It would have been nice if they had gotten feedback early in the development of the game. Or maybe they did I and missed the thread.

Competition is here!

This is the first time I've heard of Axis Games. How big is their team?

At the very least, I applaud that they've apparently finished the game and will get it to market, that alone is hard enough. There's just so much that a 3D sports game has to get right in order to be considered a quality product; I commend anyone who at least takes an honest crack at it, regardless of the outcome.

Hopefully this does well for PC and eventually makes its way to consoles. I'd play it, doubt I'd pay more than $20 for it though.

Is there a career/franchise mode?

I've been playing old AMIGA FB games this past few hours. Really makes you appreciate when we had multiple choices AND the fact that I had great memories of games when I was younger that were far from perfect.

Really makes me look at things even more even tempered.

This is a Unity3d game and can be played for free online. Like here: http://armorgames.com/play/16085/axis-football-league-2014

I don't think EA are all that nervous....

Axis Games is a small, independent game design company based out of the Charlotte area. The company was started by Danny Jugan in 2003 and initially specialized in making Flash games. Notable titles include the Hands of War series and Axis Football League. In 2013, as Flash began to decline as a game design platform, Axis Games officially switched to developing games in Unity. Their first released Unity release was Axis Football League 2014, and plan to continue the popular Hands of War series and Axis Football League series in the future.

Looks like John Elway football to me.

Yeah, going to have to pass on this one. It looks dreadful.

I soooo love the passing how you can put where you want to throw the ball! Hopefully though if you have a bad qb and try to throw it there it might be off or short or long and not always perfect. But no clue how the game is going to treat really great guys and avg. guys. I might have to pick it up and see though.

Of course that might be the only good thing about it. The line play looks suctioned big time and running with the ball is sooo not right lol. Graphics aren't good but eh I can deal with bad graphics.

Oh and I can't tell but it seems to be more true running and not the ice skating we get with madden. But hard to really tell.

I'm all for more choices. Get closer and closer to the amount of choices and games we had years ago and I'll be happy.

Cut it out. That looks down right terrible. Nothing positive about it. That isn't competition. There are ios games that look better than that.

Games I played 10+ years ago looked way worse than anything these days yet gave more enjoyment.

So glad I lived during those years.

The more FB games the better, especially on PC

Yeah Madden back in the day had that type of passing. Then Fever had it. Although it needed tweaking (Fever) it was another way of passing and options are always good.
Either way it would be great to have multiple sports games on PC/console to try each year like in the past.

Unfortunately what doesn't look good immediately jumps out.

All defenders (including offensive players) completely stops in their tracks after a tackle happens.

The OL/DL comes to a complete halt when they engage.
