MLB 15 The Show News Post

Baseball is a game steeped in tradition and history -- but what about the feats which defy imagination?

Throwing a perfect game seems the perfect place to start when talking about the hardest feat to accomplish in a baseball game. Hitting for the natural cycle is a feat even rarer. And an unassisted triple play? Almost completely unheard of.

What is the hardest feat to accomplish in baseball video games? Sound off by voting in the poll and be sure to comment with your own list!

Complete a 162 game season. Ive done 81 game seasons, but only once have I done the full thing. I think it was mvp on the ps2 or something, I hit like 78 home runs with Tino Martinez and led the league with Jeter with stolen bases lol

I finally did it last year for the first time since MVP 05. I was so excited to play a good baseball game (had a 360) that I went through 2 full seasons with my Indians. I made a steal of a trade Asdrubal/Lonnie/Carrasco for Joc Pederson and Joc went on to win ROY. I missed the playoffs both years, but I had a blast! I can't wait to start mine this year!

To the 64 people (at the time of my post) how many unassisted triple plays have you SEEN turned, never mind turn one yourself!!! I can't remember seeing any turned in my 10+ years of baseball gaming.

Well unfortunately for me (as far as baseball is concerned) I got a Xbone. Nothing makes me want a PS like the show lol

I would think the unassisted triple play would be pretty much impossible to pull off on a video game. What would need to happen: the hitter lines out to shortstop or third base (remember Ryan from Unhappily Ever After, later Entourage's best bud?) then said fielder can either tag the lead runner or tag the base, then the runner behind him would have to be on the run and completely oblivious to the line out. How many CPU runners are oblivious to a ball being caught?

Unassisted triple play isn't that difficult... Men on 1st and 2nd, double steal... line drive to second basemen, tags runner heading to second and steps on a base. I've seen it happen in The Show.

Unassisted triple play almost impossible
ALMOST

For me it is unassisted triple play by far.

Next is to hit for the cycle and third is a perfect game.

I still have yet to have a 4 homer game with a player, or hit 2 grand slams in the same innning.

I been trying to complete 162 game season since RBI 93. I'm 0 for 21.

I would say all of the above lol. For me playing all 162 games would be on that list as well.

I have played a 162 game season (Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the SNES)

I have hit for the cycle (MVP 05)

I have also thrown a perfect game (The Show 12)

I have never turned an unassisted triple play.

# 14 Mikerophone @ 02/18/15 08:45 PM
I should say I've never turned an unassisted triple play myself, but I have a tendency to always steal especially double steal, and I like to hit line drives toward the second basemen...

Unassisted triple play by far, as I have done the other two (Both on MLB 06, coincidentally). Never seen one/done one in my 7 years of playing The Show, only seen one regular triple play. Hard enough to do it in real life, even harder gaming.

Unassisted triple play for sure. Cycle can be done with the right player, and get a dominant pitcher against a cold or bad team and a perfect game can be done.

Edit: I normally get MLB the Show and this year I was gonna take a break from it, but I definitely want to get it. The limited edition is calling my name.

Unassisted triple play.

I've hit natural cycles with David Ortiz, Mike Trout, my RTTS character, and a few other players. It takes a little luck, but largely, accomplishable with time.

I've thrown something like 7 perfect games on varying difficulties, including one as Dan Haren in the rain in a version a couple years back.

I've turned one, maybe two(?), unassisted triple plays ever. And both of those times I feel like I didn't do anything. I felt like everything had the perfect amount of luck.

I can't think of anything more difficult, since it requires loads of luck.

Playing a full 162 game season, I'm going to attempt to do it on MLB 15 the show with my Tigers.

Perfect game without a question.

The unassisted triple play is all about being in the right place at the right time, good awareness, and frankly being incredibly lucky. Tossing a perfect game is no doubt a bit of luck, but also requires a fair amount of skill and knowledge of the opposing teams hitters. You also have to take keeping your nerves under control into consideration and producing on the offensive end to solidify things. Perfect game is definitely the harder feat.

Throwing a perfect game can't be too hard, considering all the people that threw one during 2K's perfect game challenge. So I would have to say unassisted triple play.
