MLB 15 The Show News Post

We learned a lot about MLB 15 The Show's gameplay yesterday, but what stuck out to you as the most important?

There was a good bit about the new speed system, as well as the new infielding animations and defensive approach to the game. Quick counts are also getting work, with more mid-counts as well as pitchers always starting off 1-1. It seems as if much of the gameplay saw some sort of refinement this year, with the overall experience being 'better' versus last year.

What do you think of the improvements, and what was your favorite new feature mentioned?

Right direction as always, not jaw dropping obviously, but we can't expect too much in less than one year.

Small, solid steps. Just like every year... Good stuff!

Improving on what is already great. I do love having more tools to customize the experience to what I feel is more sim ie separate IF/OF sliders. All we can ask of companies is to give the user the tools and I can appreciate that they are willing to do that for the fans!

I love The Show. Keep it solid and evolving. Let's try to QA the heck out of it this year too. The batting camera not saving really bummed me out last year.

I love the game, I'm buying it but I honestly expected more. Slowing down slow guys and speeding up fast guys seem like something that could have been accomplished on the PS3. The graphics look more like a color change the actual new player models. It's not like the leap that Madden had from year one to year two. I know that they're still working on things to get it right on PS4 so in two years it should be finished. Like I said I'm a huge fan so I'm buying on day one and loading up my year to year saves.

It's worth the upgrade for most hardcore players, but all players will still feel like they are playing the same project from MLB 14'. They need to continue to do more to change the look and ambiance in the game for "next gen".

This game is so solid, that its very hard for them to improve on it. I say they should release a new version every 2 years.

This way we can see a bigger difference. There isnt enough there for me to pay $60. Ill just wait for 2016

Disappointed about the career stats but happy about trade finder and performance based player progression.

All I'm going to say is now I'll be playing my franchise carry-over from 14, and when OS rosters are done, starting a new franchise with 15...Going to be busy, busy, busy.....

What Do You Think About The Show's New Gameplay Additions? (Poll)
Answer:They're great, but I really wanted different additions.
The edit contracts are great, & I wanted more little things like this added,
such as edit coach & manager names, edit umpire names & tendencies,
edit amount of teams in offline franchise, edit service time.
Things of that nature to customize rosters for classic seasons.

Really wish they or someone else would put the video on YouTube. I don't have devices that have flash that will allow me to see archived video.

The last 2yrs, I've continued the previous edition for a month after the new game is released. I had played 8-9 yrs into my RTTS. This year I didn't play my RTTS as much because I knew I could take him into the new version. I'm going to wait a month, so I can pick it up for $40, while playing '14 The Show.

id like to be able to create teams...like the expos...if you create old time rosters...it helps to be able to create old teams...old negro teams...i dont know why the show does
t realize this...they must see all the rosters created...hell , i don;t know why the show doesn't sell old time rosters??????????

I would imagine the Show's hands are tied by MLB
The only way old time rosters could begin to be profitable would be to take away the ability for roster makers to create old rosters (& OSFM).
We really don't want that, now do we? Also, if classic stadiums don't generate enough money, I doubt old rosters would be any more able to do that.

Have you tried any of these, by the way?

The only reason those old-time rosters are even legal is that they are made by consumers, for consumers, at no charge, and with no direct connection or endorsement to/by SCEA.

If anyone, including both SCEA and us here, even thought about selling old-time rosters without first buying the rights and getting permission, the MLB would be summoning us to court faster than you could say "Jon Dowd."

If your next thought is for SCEA to shell up the money to get the rights legally, remember that retired/legend/deceased players dont have a union or organized association. A team of 40 old-time players would mean 40 flights to 40 different cities to negotiate with 40 different people. If these players were on a former team that no longer exists , that's 41 (MLB). Former stadium? 42 (the city government or corporate entity that owns the stadium).

Yeah but getting some random legends from throughout history is not on the same difficulty level as successfully getting all of them from one team together. You have to ask each one for permission individually. Imagine asking 24 of them and then the 25th man says no?
