The animation is still terrible. Gameplay is still years behind 2k. At least its servers work so it has that going for it. Graphics are pk.

I'll give it a strong 6.5-7.0 out of 10. The groundwork is there and a patch would fix some issues that I've notice early on. Right now the game is average but has the potential to be good if they continue to update it like last year. It really is fun to play and a switch from what you've been accustomed to in 2k. As I've said before you can't play Live like 2k it doesn't end well but if you go into it with a open mind then you will be surprised.

Very impressed, i think they are onto something here. I actually like the stepback, euro step type stuff more in Live than the 2k shot stick

Live now has a good foundation to build upon. Really enjoying it so far.

It's a good game and is different from 2K which I believe everyone needs to realize.

Bingo! If you go in with that mindset you'll see what Live is and will be.

I haven't played Live yet but being different is what I was expecting and it is what Live should be. It can share similarities to 2k, they are both basketball games after all, and could maybe "borrow" aspects 2k does well but Live should havr it's own identity.

I don't expect Live to be at the overall quality of 2k (polish, number of game modes, depth of gameplay) but it should be able to stand on its own and gain its own fanbase. I feel next year will be a year the Live will be able to compete with 2k. Maybe not steal the crown but atleast do enough to put up an argument.

I give it an 8. The game is fun. The visuals are much improved, the commentary is the best of any sports game and the game is a blast. Yes, its not 2K but it shouldnt have to be. I think EA has righted the ship.

I was impressed with the game modes. If Live's online functionality doesnt have a hitch I would give it a nudge over 2K, whose online issues are historical and have not been fixed.

The game is average at most!
The Graphics are better than last years version.
Presentation is pretty much the same as last year!
Gameplay is on par with the incremental game updates that started in NBA LIVE 14; so I will not be able to fully speak on how the gameplay will turn out this year, as they (EA) said they would continue their efforts to update the game throughout the up coming season!
Notables: lots of body warping; layups almost always go in; and 1's are CPU chosen for you or the AI; way too easy for the CPU to drive pass you on defense; boxing out, is hit and miss! Free style passing doesn't really go to where you initially pass it to; CPU will never miss a 3pt shot if they had an open look;
6 out of 10

It's better than Live 14 in almost every way. Bad part is it's only slightly better than Live 10 and by no means a good base for a game that will take us to 2018 or longer. The elephant in the room is this game's competition and the fact that most people won't buy 2 bball games at full price. I would like to finally see that full reboot so they can finally animate properly and begin to nail simulation gameplay, but it seems like we're in store for patches of this base.

I think they have solid presentation, menus, shoes, faces up close and atmosphere to build on, but the core 5 on 5 just isn't there and it's been similar to this since the beginning of 360/PS3. Even though Elite failed, I think they had the right idea to establish a new base for the core of the game. For anyone who wanted Live 11 right now today, this is a must buy. For anyone who was disappointed with Live 14, this is a slight patch and graphics update with no extra options. That's just my honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoy the game. I would give it a 7 out of 10. The foundation has been laid and it gives me that NBA Live 10 feel all over again, but this is light years better than 10. The game is definitely smooth and responsive. I still find myself using some 2k controls by accident when trying to perform NBA live moves haha. The graphics are amazing, especially up close, but even in the default camera it is pretty nice on the eyes.
Character models are very detailed, some would say too detailed. Ragdoll physics is absolutely amazing and can only get better with time. The only downside to the game is some of the animations. In my opinion the animations for the most part are very good, but there are a few that leave me scratching my head in confusion. Am I getting this game? Yes I am. Been playing NBA live since 94 (nba live 95) and been playing 2k since 99 (NBA 2k).. I play 2k everyday faithfully, but in the brief time that have sat down with NBA live, I must say NBA live is the more fun game to play imo. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. In order for you to get the most out of this game, you have to think of it as its own game, not 2ks competition. On ball defense is light years better than any basketball game I've ever played.

I think the fun factor is going to be the deciding factor for many. There are two sides to this fence. Those who find the game fun and therefor enjoy the game and those who see the "fun" as being arcadey and less sim. As an avid 2k player I was actually looking forward to Live for this reason.

2k is a different kind of fun. Its fun because there is a good challenge to it and, for the most part, playing good basketball and using strategy is rewarded. If you try playing fast paced and attempt to dribble your way to victory in 2k you will fail. Live, based on past games, is fun because it is a bit more laid back. Typically you can play fast paced and take advantage of the dribbling mechanics in order to pull out the win. As some have mentioned, you would play 2k like Live and you shouldn't play Live like 2k. If you want Live to be more like 2k then just stick with 2k, if you want 2k to be more like Live or just aren't feeling 2k anymore then give Live a shot.

After playing this game in full. It's about equal to live 10 maybe a little better. The only problem with that is this is a 2015 game. I couldn't give this game more then 5 out of 10.

i havent played Live 15 yet, but I will be playing it Tuesday. I have read all the info that you guys have posted and I saw the videos. Thanks. Now I have a question? If they gave Live 14 a 4 last year and it made dramatic improvements. Why would you 2k dudes think it should get a 5? That doesnt make sense. Also how come none of you mentioned the fact that 2k has gotten lower ratings this year. IGN 9.3 2k14, this year 2k15 7.8. Operation sports gave the game a 7 something. I read someone say something about the commentating being weak. Why does 2k have a coach doing commentating? Kerr So how much different could it be? I have 2k15 and it always has a beast of presentation. The game play is ok, the passing is still floating and the steals are easy to get because the ball moves to slow. If Live has improved in more than 3 or 4 areas then It should get an 8. 4 from last year plus 4 improvements equals 8. Now what 2k dudes are afraid of is that would be a higher score than 2k15. I know it is not going to happen but if it does I am going to laugh my butt off.

This is by far some of the worst game review logic I've ever read.

Live 14 was horrible Almost anything would be an improvement. Yes it's better then live 14 which is not saying much. I only play basketball games offline. Live 15 will be history when my 6 hours are up. Hopefully live 16 can move me.
