The Best NBA 2K24 Center Build

For over a decade, MyPlayer builds have become an important part of the NBA 2K experience and it’s no different in NBA 2K24. With that in mind, people are always curious what the best builds are, so we’re here to explain one version of what can be the best NBA 2K24 center build.

The “best” build for any position really just depends on your play style. Although, I will say that positions like point guard and center should have a solid enough Pass Accuracy and Rebound ratings.

But there are plenty of good ways to build a great center. You can focus more on paint play like Shaquille O’Neal by having high finishing attributes and great interior defense and blocking. Or, maybe you want to be more of a Nikola Jokic type, focusing on passing, ball handling, and shooting.

You can also go for a little bit of everything. It’s trickier to be balanced now than it was over the last couple of NBA 2Ks, but you can still figure out a way. There’s a center build I’ve been using called the Glass-Cleaning Interior Threat, and he’s more than just a threat in the paint.

The highlight attributes include a 93 Defensive Rebound, 92 Block, 76 Three-Point, 77 Pass Accuracy, 90 Standing Dunk, and 92 Strength. He even has a 60 Ball Handle. Mid-Range isn’t amazing at 61, but you make up for it with dominance in the paint and a sneaky good three-point shot. On top of that, with a 77 Close Shot, you can comfortably knock down post hooks, which are difficult to stop once you master them.

Here is a screenshot of all of the attributes for the 7-foot-1 beast.

The Center build in NBA 2K24 that can do a little bit of everything.

As you see in the screenshot, he has a 62 Perimeter Defense as well, which really has come in handy at times where I needed to guard a player outside of the three-point line. Also, it’s highly important to note the Pass Accuracy again because it can be a critical aspect of your big’s game, believe it or not.

Pass Accuracy impacts how accurate your passes are and how quick they are. Since you’ll likely be the one grabbing most of the rebounds, this rating allows you to quickly throw the ball up court to a teammate.

Most players will use a big-man build with a PA rating of 86 or 92 and that’s great. But 77 is a great sweet spot, and it’ll allow you to put more attribute points into other areas of your game. It’s up to you what direction you want to take Pass Accuracy but 77, 86, and 92 are the “big three” ratings so to speak. Test out your build with all three ratings and see which is best for you.

This build also has the 90 Standing Dunk rating as mentioned, which is also really important if you want your build to be able to score in the paint when the opportunity arises — unless you want to make a pure stretch big build. Having the 90 SD has allowed my MyPlayer to dunk on many players in many Park games in The City. That’s because you get the Rise Up badge at gold so it makes it easier, especially being a towering 7-foot-1.

A 93 Offensive or Defensive Rebound will allow you to get Gold Rebound Chaser and Hall of Fame Boxout Beast so you can dominate the glass. And even if one rebound rating is 93, you can still get the other one up to 79 or so, which is very useful. Not to mention, you can still get that 92 Block that gives you the gold Anchor badge that improves your interior defense.

A nice thing about the 79 Offensive Rebound is that you can get Post Playmaker up to silver. This is great as it gives a boost to shooters who receive a pass from you when you’re in the post. It’s like the Dimer badge except for interior play, especially after grabbing an offensive board. Speaking of Dimer, reminder that with the 77 Pass Accuracy you do get silver Dimer as well.

Now, there’s no doubt you’re curious about the shooting. With this build, which has a 76 Three-Point rating, the badge highlights include a silver Catch & Shoot, silver Corner Specialist, and a bronze Deadeye among other things. You’ll also get the very underrated Open Looks badge at silver as well, so you have plenty of solid shooting badges for a build where finishing and defense/rebounding are still kings.

The 92 Strength on this build is powerful as it gives you the gold version of two new and popular badges called Bulldozer and Immovable Enforcer. Bulldozer uses your strength to your advantage when going towards the basket, and Immovable Enforcer gives you a boost to your strength and defending players, especially in the paint

Speaking of the badges, below is an image highlighting some of the key attributes of this NBA 2K24 build and the badges you’ll get. There are a very comfortable amount of silver and golds in there to help assert your dominance on the court.

A look at the Block, Three-Point, Rebound, Standing Dunk, Strength, and Pass Accuracy attributes and their badges

Before launch, it sounded like there was really no way to create an all-around MyPlayer build in NBA 2K24, but with the right amount of tweaking — and if you feel like you can ball out with certain skills in the 70s — you can make that build.

Now, the cost is that you’re likely not going to have any Hall of Fame badges besides one or maybe two (if you’re lucky) when making an all-around build. This center build for example only has one HoF badge and that’s the Boxout Beast, which is fantastic in your pursuit of grabbing rebounds.

Despite the low Hall of Fame badge count, there are still plenty of great gold badges to help you ball out on both sides of the court. For example, Gold Anchor and Rise Up are amazing. The former, as we mentioned, will make you a defensive force in the paint. Rise Up makes it very easy to perform standing dunks and will allow to posterize opponents more frequently (I can attest, many bodies have been caught with this build).

Feel free to use this build as a template if you want to make some tweaks when creating your own center in NBA 2K24. And always make sure to test your build before heading into the City. And even when you do hit the City, make sure to go to the Gatorade Facility courts and see how the build feels with the 60 overall rating.
