With sports gaming seemingly moving towards a more online future, it's always prudent to gauge OS'ers interest in online vs. offline.

So assuming all things are equal and the modes are working as advertised -- do you prefer an online experience or and offline experience for your sports gaming?

Vote in our poll and let us know why you selected the option you selected.

I feel like this question is asked at least twice a year...

BTW, offline for me.

20-80 rule in effect.

The 20-percent (online gamers) provide 80-percent of the after-sale revenue for gaming companies, so they cater to them with this silly UT stuff while the silent majority (the offline franchisers, etc) are ignored.

I have always said and will continue to say that online sports gaming is not nearly as popular as companies like EA would have you believe.

Offline. And the companies know the segment is small. That's why more effort isn't put into making online play work better.

Offline. I can play by my rules on my schedule.

Offline. Online is for suckers.

Couldn't agree more. I enjoy Ultimate Teams, but I much prefer offline. I just can't put up with playing guys who cheat/cheese online.

Offline. It's not too much fun to play people who abuse flaws in the game. Playing against another person can be a lot of fun, but someone who jumps on for a quick game often plays against someone who ruins the whole online experience.

Offline. I can play the way I want to. If a flaw or exploit exists I won't use it.(Never understood why anyone would use an exploit to beat a person let alone the computer).

Offline all the way for me with sports. Unless it's a shooter. Then I'm about 50/50 on/off. With sports games though, I prefer offline. When I do like to play a head to head game not against the CPU, I do it with my friends in the room with me. Much more entertaining, less frustrations with cheaters/cheesers, its just a much better overall experience offline when it comes to sports gaming.

Offline, because I want my gaming experience to be enjoyable.

# 11 kunner @ 04/18/14 11:53 AM
Its offline for me, but not due to a lack of enjoyment of it, but when there is a small child in the house, its much easier to just pause a game, and come back to it later, then have to back out of an online match to take care of issues

Too many immature , adolescent types online for me, JMHO

And it sucks how EA makes their offline experience worse because they intentionally make certain things different about gameplay because they expect most people to be playing online.

Offline...

Love the ability to have my buddies over and have a franchise or season or etc where we can all hang together and play co-op and have a good time and all take a vested interest in a team

I can't get broadband where Ilive, so its always offline only for me. And even back when I could get online (2004 and earlier), the experience sucked. Cheesers seemed to make up 80% of the gamers.

Offline...no brainer. Better experience, more fun.

# 17 JerzeyReign @ 04/18/14 01:29 PM
Online. Human interaction makes the game fun. Now if offline started incorporating more "human like" feel rather than an opponent following an algorithm then my answer would easily flip.

# 18 Cowboy008 @ 04/18/14 01:35 PM
I enjoy playing offline.

# 19 DJ @ 04/18/14 01:38 PM
Offline, for a variety of reasons.

# 20 ps3veron @ 04/18/14 01:56 PM
For me, offline is good for franchises, My Player and other more management based modes.

Online is great when you have a sentient opponent who can make the game feel more human.
You know its true, there's no AI out there that can mimic a real person's failures/success. Be it FIFA
or The Show, there's nothing better than knowing that a human managed to tease you with that curve
ball for a strike.

Unfortunately, you also get all sorts and that includes that racist temperamental pre teen who's at the very bottom of the primordial soup. On a good day, I'd take online any day!
