I'd like to see them fix basic things. Player contracts of earned VC being realistic, free agency. More interaction with the GM regarding concerns. I was a starting PG for the kings, and they traded for 5 backup PGs, and then moved me to SG. Everything is broken. The story stuff? eh. Id rather see it implemented primarily in the playoffs more so than the regular season.

It needs to have the feel and freedom of the past Associations.

this is a stupid mode for lonely dudes with no friends ..concentrate on making game play better

Get rid of rookie showcase and bring back draft combine

Have your player pick a back story like in Madden (high pick means higher ratings (73-82) initially and a shoe contract, but you get way less VC for good games and improvement costs more; non lottery pick means average ratings (67-72), but you get average VC for good games and with some work could become a star early in your career and get endorsements; 2nd rounder means lower ratings (60-66) but if you manage to have good games you will get the most VC and improvement won't cost as much. It will be a struggle to get PT and the D-League is where you may have to show you're good. Star potential is there, but you may have to wait for an opportunity)

draft combine

draft

summer league

D-League

If you're rated 80+ and averaging 25+ a game, no team will be bringing you off of the bench.

Improve draft and trade logic. It should be as simple as roster break downs and ratings. If a team has 2-3 PGs they won't get another. If someone is rated 80 ovr at their position, they won't try to acquire another star at that position.

Add sliders for users to adjust gameplay like any other mode.

Get rid of the bland NBA.com and add a weekly show that highlights player of the week, trades, signings and who's hot/cold

Please add practice. Give users the option to sim it and get a set amount of improvement, or participate in it where you run drills, go over key plays and then a scrimmage all for improvement

Option to play more than just 82 games seasons

Real contracts with real money. If you're going to do the off the court stuff, have a real FB or app game that let's you manage your off the court life when you're really away from the game. Buy a house, invest, hire/fire agents, do commercials, play teammates in cards, make friends around the league, help charity or do interviews that effect your player

Ability to sign a shoe contract coming into the draft if you're a high pick.

Free agency.. REAL free agency

Limit the amount of time you're playing out of position

Personalities attached to your player. So if you're a low pick hothead, it will be an even steeper uphill climb, but once you get there that fire could turn you into a Kobe. If you're a low pick calm guy, it could mean more PT early, but your leadership attribute would suffer and teams may not want to make you the #1 guy because of it.

On the weekly show make a bigger deal of Rookie of the Year race and give us some interactive opportunities to increase our popularity for all star votes other than just play on the court. This could work with the app as well.

If the players aren't going to have voices, don't give our guy a voice, just use text options, or just add voice options. Sure, a lot of the actual NBA players will sound a like, but at least they won't be mutes that our character can somehow "hear" and understand. Story shouldn't be linear, there should be the possibility of you failing or being a journeyman, or just an average role player but it is important. It should be somewhat difficult to rise to super stardom. And the whole, coming in from the streets or whatever, is played out. Our character should have background options. We are all from different places in the world, let us showcase that. Stop holding our hands, and let us decide how the story goes.

And for God sakes, either get rid of VC or make all of the options cheaper. I'm fairly certain it real-life, it doesn't take an entire year's salary for the players to buy some shoes. And get it out of Association mode altogether.

I would like to see them implement the Future Saves/Save Migration that MLB the Show 14 has put in. I am tired of starting a new MyCareer every year. I would like to buy a new game and just load my Player from the last game. If they did this I would buy every 2k blindly every year.

# 8 BSUFAN @ 02/26/14 07:20 PM
Basically I want to punch Jackson Ellis in the head so head can't play anymore

# 9 TheJokester117 @ 02/26/14 07:52 PM
Honestly I need an all of the above option! While I do like the way 2k is trying to innovate MyCareer, the execution was sub par. Hopefully they can revamp it next year and come out strong. It has the potential to be just as incredibly immersive as MyGM.

# 10 Joshua1207 @ 02/26/14 10:57 PM
All of the stuff would be nice. It'd also be nice if when you make comments in post-game etc that depending on what you say it'd effect your personality (humble, egoistic, etc) and have that change dialogue options and story-line events throughout the game.

# 11 bxfinest15 @ 02/26/14 11:08 PM
I think they need to focus more on gameplay in MyCareer especially AI Teammates and shooting percentages. It's not fun to have to go score 50 plus points and damn near average a triple double just to have a chance to win. It's horrible, the opposing AI shoots too high percentage and please rid that AI deflecting the passes with their backs turned and that ugly *** canned animation dribbling side to side with the computer like y'all dancing. Get rid of the repeated scenes of you and the GM and Agent friend. More customization options for our MyPlayer. Please also fix the dynamic unrealistic goals, the Ludacris voice is hideous more voice options please. Fix coach logic if you create a SG don't have him coming in to play PF and C.

# 12 Bobhead @ 02/26/14 11:17 PM
I'd like it to work correctly.

This is one of the best ideas I have read for improving My Career. I second this idea completely.

Why judge people for playing different modes than you? It's the most played mode in the game why wouldn't they improve it? Obviously the gameplay is flawed but they make enough money to improve the game on multiple fronts.

MyCareer Wishlist

1. No More Buying Attributes: This is not only boring but completely un-realistic. We should have a sense of accomplishment when we walk out on the court/park and our player is good. We should have to train and put in some work to get that dribbling attribute up, or to make 3s, or any other aspect of our MyPlayer's game. The training doesn't have to be tedious, they could be fun, competitive drills that we would look forward to doing. If our free-throws aren't falling, we could hit the gym and practice, this should then be reflected in an improvement after the workout (I realize this is in the game but we don't get more freethrow attributes when its over, we still have to buy them, it doesn't make any sense). To help with the workload we could be given better rookies so we aren't killing ourselves to be respectable in the league.

2. Different Player Stories/Backgrounds: Enough of the "unknown player who comes out of nowhere to surprise the scouts" storyline. We've had some variation of this since the mode began back in 11. I want to be the phenom, or college star with all the added pressure that comes with it. No more underdog, we've been there, let's move on.

3. Improving a Player's Body: I want to earn that "ripped" physique or train for the bigger muscles. Again I don't want to purchase quickness, speed, strength or vertical leap. I want to train for it (or come into the league with it). If I don't stay in shape my player could start to look soft and that would reflect itself in how he actually looks and plays. Maybe I want to put in some muscle for my post game. I'd hit the gym, lift the weights and come out looking stronger and being stronger, muscling smaller guys out of the way. This might in turn hurt my outside quickness but perhaps it's a trade off I'd be willing to make. Just like with ability, we should have pride in how our MyPlayers look. They look that way because I worked for it.

4. Offseason Mode: In past years my absolute favorite thing to do in MyCareer was to start saving up VC with about a month or so left in the season. After the play-offs I'd take that VC and put it into various attributes I wanted to improve on and come into the new season with an added weapon (post game, 3pt shot, better handle). This way I could simulate off-season improvement. I'd love to see this put in the game for real with various camps or trainers that we could hire to improve our skills or body that are specific for the offseason.

5. Cut the Cut-Scenes: If you can't do it right, don't do it at all. This addition is always going to get repetitive, even if the writing and story is good, which it isn't. This was also a sneaky way of taking out the various practice modes within MyCareer by only allowing us to do them once in awhile. I should be able to hit the practice court whenever I want, not when 2k wants me to, same for GM meetings.

6. More Customization: I'm talking about the face and body here. I love the addition of wingspan this year, I'd like to see that extended to other places like hands. Jordan was artistic because his hands were huge! I want to palm the ball or fake-pass with one hand like he did. Bigger hands could open up their own animation trees.

7. Signature Style: I've seen this brought up in other threads and I love the idea. Right now we get to choose how a player looks, dribbles, and shoots. Why not let us choose how they run, jump, back peddle, how they carry themselves? Do they chew gum? How do they trash talk to the other players? What's their overall feel or aura? I know this can be done because they did it with the Jordan Challenge. It was the little things that made it feel like I was Jordan in that mode. The addition of emotion this year was a good start but I'd like to see it pulled back into a more subtle representation. My guy screams at everything, literally every play he is screaming at stuff. They should save it for the big moments, not every time he makes a freethrow.

Everyone has already pointed out similar things that I would like to see, so I'll throw one more out there.

Sliders. Let us have sliders in our own career mode. Make the My Player for the Park and other online modes a separate thing.

# 18 zello144 @ 02/27/14 06:16 PM
I think that they should improve the gameplay first. Fixing the AI and the teammates and GM logic. I know that its the hardest thing for the team and probably gets tweaked every year because it is very complicated. GET RID OF SCRIPTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fix the Dynamic goals If I'm a passer dont give me something like score 10 straight points...

Get rid of the rookie showcase bring back the draft combine. Let us work out for about 5 interested teams that want to draft us.

-Let us choose some background info on our player ( lottery pick, unknown prospect, college star etc.) That can determine our draft and ratings as an unknown prospect our ratings will be lower and so will our draft stock so we might be a 2nd rounder or go undrafted but your expectations will be lower and there will be less pressure you just wouldn't get many endorsements at the start depending on how your career turns out. If you go higher in the draft your ratings are higher you will get endorsements very early on but your expectations and pressure to win will be higher.

-Bring in the Summer League, the preseason, and the return of the D-League after we get drafted we play in the summer league to get a spot on the team if not we end up on the D-League.
If we go undrafted let us sign a contract with a team and if we complete training camp we get a spot on the team. The preseason is if you make the team it will determine your minutes and role on the team.

-You can also be sent down to the D-League throughout the season depending on your performance or if your not getting any playing time so you can develop.(IE I play SF and get drafted by the thunder let me go to the D-League to get some playing time.)

Practice and Drills- Bring back drills and probably add new ones It would be cool to train with an instructor. I would also like to review game film, discussing minutes and strategy with the coach unlike how scripted it is now

Changing our position- I remember in the past If I was a SG if I made the lineup coach would put me at PG. Eventually you get used to PG and change the way you play. Which makes the transition back to SG a bit difficult. It has happened to many players as well who play one position then end up as another. Im not saying if we're a PG we should be able to play C but if we play our Secondary position let it be a permanent change. ( IE SG to PG and so on...)

- Add more Voices im tired of having the same voice from 2k11. Maybe I create a Player from a different country let him have an accent.

Get rid of the storyline it is unnecessary I don't mind the cutscenes but I don't want to have the same storyline as everyone else and want to choose my own path. Also let me sim games like in MLB The Show in 2k I only play all of the games in my rookie year then maybe in my 2nd season afttet that I just sim to the playoffs.

Contracts and free agency- Let us get paid in actual money that we can use to buy VC(2k12 did this we could buy SP's with our money) 10 day contracts if our career isn't really going well let us sign 10 day contracts if we're journeymen (who knows you might have a good run) Also if we get signed with a team give us a press conference showing us with our new jersey.

More Shoe brands and shoe deals- Would add more to the experience if we could sign a deal with a different company instead of always Nike and Jordan. I know with a lot of licensing and contract issues its not very likely but if it is let us sign with Adidas, Converse, And1, Reebok, Fila... Also let us choose a number of years or so because maybe you get tired of wearing that brand and are unable to wear other shoes.

Retirement and Beyond- As we get older our stats should decline I dont want to have a 38 year old player dropping 40 points every night. If its our last season let us have that last game environment (I wanna go out like MJ). Have the announcers talk about our accomplishments and even maybe a moment with the opposing team. If we're worthy let our team retire our jersey and hang it up in the rafters. I always ask for this But.....LET US COACH it would let us do something with our players afterwards. It would be cool to Coach in the NBA or D-League(Conducting practice, reviewing game film, recommending trades with the GM etc.)

# 19 kadzier @ 02/27/14 06:52 PM
Definitely make it less linear. Please, no more scripting gameplay or in-game sequences just to get a cutscene. Don't make me miss free throws so my teammate can talk to me about practice. Don't make me unrealistically sit out the entire second half just to be subbed in at the last second to make a shot. It's lame and we didn't want it-- MY career is supposed to be MY story, not 2K's. I don't want a cheesy NBA drama, occasional cutscenes to give context to my accomplishments are fine but they shouldn't get in the way of ball

D-League and draft combine need to come back. No idea why these were taken out, having one game determine your draft status is way less realistic. It would be like Road to the Show having your player skip the minor leagues.

I actually liked being sent down to the D-League to develop if my play was sub par. It actually made me better at the game.
