Madden NFL 25 News Post

For some, it's been over two weeks with Madden NFL 25 on next-gen consoles. With prettier visuals and subtle gameplay enhancements which have led to some mixed (but overall positive) reactions from critics and gamers -- so far this next-gen launch stands in stark contrast to the last time Madden made the generational leap.

But what about you? How has your Madden next-gen experience been?

Looks and feels like last gen, basically the same experience I had on the 360/PS3.

Not impressed, but it's not like there are any next gen football alternatives out there.

Not good! Keep getting kicked out of CFM. When I finish a game it kicks me out to the main menu. Waiting for a patch but if this isn't fixed this game will be a huge bust for me. I skipped the current gen and waited for the next gen so I have nothing to compare it too. However, as long as they've been working on this I find this to be inexcusable and EA's ruining my football gaming experience. This is getting old and we just started a new!

The game does NOT look and feel like last gen. However one might not call it full "next gen" either. I think it's somewhere between the two. With that said and due to the capabilities of the next gen power (which hasnt even truly been tapped yet) I do see and feel the game playing differently. I used to NOT be an online player at all but I find myself enjoying playing next gen online. I think because the game requires more flat out skill with each player (hand and eye, etc) VS calling easy money plays all the time. Sure people still run money plays, but I find myself having much more success in shutting them down. It's hard to explain but anyone that says next gen plays like current gen is either not really that into football, or just want to troll or be angry.

Is Madden 25 next gen this awesome showcase of what's to come? I wouldn't go that far looking at what 2k did with basketball BUT I will say that it IS better than current gen, and for me it's highly noticable.

Love it!!!!! Big fan of o-line blocking and pocket. Incredibly smooth player reactions. Graphics have not improved that much, but definitely looks better than last gen. Tons of new player animations that actually makes sense in the course of a game..

Totally agree. Next gen Madden seems to reward solid knowledgeable football.

Seeing the same thing with CFM, really like the game play but the menu system and constant locking up in CFM is starting to really sour me on this game. Really wish they would just bring back the old franchise menu system and settings cause the current CFM just seems like a hot mess with constant freezing during drafts and others parts of CFM. Also who do they have testing this CFM every year cause its a joke, so annoying every time I want to highlight somebody in Free agency and draft when you hit back it takes to the very beginning and you have to start all over going back to the original position you where on the players you where looking at, also can we actually utilize are wide screen TV's finally so we can see more of the player ratings finally

This game has a lot of promise, especially once the physics gets further developed. Unfortunately the less than one year development time will require a few years before its up to snuff.

Should have a poll option of "never bought it or intend to". I'd be interested to see if the majority bought it or passed on it this year. I certainly plan on renting it down the road.

Very good tweaks added to the game. I can now play a 15 minute quarter game without the score being outrageously high or 40 3rd downs in a game. Although I have acc. clock at 20, so that helps. Wish it was more simulation but hey, w3ve been asking for that for years. I mainly play ccm, very few online. I am pleased but not impressed, although it plays a decent game.

If I could get the computer to hold onto the ball and maybe get my defense to stop the run, it'd be excellent, but those two things keep me from immersing myself in a game. The CPU runs the ball about 13 times but each one has the potential to go 70+ and I their wide open receivers drop too many passes. This is all in CCM.

I think next-gen Madden shows welcome improvements. It plays more like real football. Current-gen 6.5. Next-gen 8.0.

1 Vote for 'Good. I like a lot of what it's doing.'

I'm enjoying the experience; EA started this generation of Madden off on the right foot.

I grew up on madden but the past few years, I couldnt play past a quarter of madden....strictly ncaa and 2K basketball....BUT, I must say with the zoom view and some tweaking to the sliders on next gen and Im having a blast..i play it more than the 2k basketball.....I actually even watch replays which i havent done in years...obviously it not great, but if they build off this and not try to come up with a new marketing scheme next year and mess up the game, I think we in for a great generation of football.....the only issue I have is I feel like throwing up when I see some of those old animations(i.e...the one one tackle animation where momentum is gone and the defense hits the offensive runner and the runner crawls up like a snail and fall backwards)!!!

My experience on the XB1 is kool. I really like the feel of the game, I'm happy to say that I have not seen any CPU cheese yet on ALL- Madden skill level. Maybe I just haven't been playing long enough to notice. However, on the 360 no matter what, come 2nd or 4th Q. the CPU is unstoppable, but on XB1 I haven't noticed it.

Stop playing unsim football. Your way of playing using the left stick is over. It's not realistic at all. When you are running at full speed, it SHOULD, take multiple steps to get out of that and turn another way. Use the right stick honcho, and play sim football, this isn't tecmo bowl anymore, you can't just fake out CPU logic to get more yards.

The gameplay feels better; however, EA really needs to step up the presentation. NFL 2K5 on the original Xbox 1, shouldn't still be the presentation king.

It's ok. I like some things and the direction it's going, but too much is left out, disconnected, or just plain awful for me to consider it a good game. It has potential though.

LAST gen version has a more fluid running game. this version the computer seems to take over at time and you find the running is not responsive enough. Vs the AI a spin move is basically useless as you press the button and then the canned tackling animation starts so no spin occurs - pretty crappy if you ask me.

Momentum is does not exist again, not does size matter when tackling at all. The Defensive CPU cheats to keep in coverage same as last year.

I also notice scenarios where you know the final score has been predetermined by the CPU. this is usually displayed by wideouts dropping balls that hit them in the hands - just pathetic stuff really.

I dont know about other people, but on XBox One on All Madden, after about 9 games of tweaking the sliders, and i am pretty satisfied. Feels pretty realistic now, Using the Panthers, 8-2 and blown out by the Patriots and the Giants as my two loses. My only complaint is the front end, the menu system could use some work, and to me, the screen to the tailback works a little too well.
