I gave it "great" because my expectations weren't too high. With next gen coming out, I didn't expect the usual graphic and feature filled yearly update. I really just wanted 2K to balance the game out and give us something slightly new. This game is definitely balanced on both sides of the ball and is easily the best sim bball game I've ever played on the court. The new controls, return of Crew and My Team modes are enough to satisfy me for the last 2K of the current generation. I know others wanted more, but I understand the business and can appreciate the refined game play and new features.

The gameplay is great but the lack of presentation improvements and improvement to association mode and my player take it down to a good that's what I rate it. Still a very good game that plays much better than 2k13, on court feel of the game is impressive.

I like it a lot and can tell the differences in certain areas.. BUT that next gen trailer for NBA 2K14 didn't help either lol now I'm focused on that and trying to trade the 360 version for the XBox One version..

Shot releases seem to be quicker this year. Gameplay n defense are improved as promised but the redundant presentation does take away from the game. I've been playing the game since I got it at midnight . Scale of 1-10 . 7.5-8

All the legend teams from last year save the 2002 Kings and two Dream Teams are in the game. No new legend teams and all the player models are from 2 years ago. No Kareem, Barkley or Dr. J. Also, only 2 different Converse shoes to choose from...real bummer being I'm a Celtics fan. Also noticed while the game play is faster and defense/blocking is better, one little glitch bothering me is players stepping over the free throw line on free throws and it's really tough on defense staying in front of an offensive player...kind of slide all over the place and over slide on occasion. That's all I've noticed so far except for a few new animations.

Not all that impressed actually. Give it about a 7/10. IF you're getting a next gen console, save your money for that.

I think the game is great! but i also understand why some may consider it as NBA 2k13.5.
I think the gameplay is even more polished and well balanced. There are some bugs such as subbing during freethrows (the game will not record that you want to sub the shooter on the next deadball, therefore you have to go back to the sub menu and resub the shooter out again). I also found the A.I will not pass the ball to its best player for a bail out when clock is winding down to zero.
Nonetheless i really like the game.

Cheaper, then what about Ncaa 14, Madden 25 or any other sports sequel this year? I see more of a difference in 2k14 than I did in those games, so why didn't they come out cheaper. Oh yeah because EA had to fix what they broke in the previous edition. NBA 2k13 was excellent to begin with. Everybody needs to relax on the hate this game is receiving because it still looks and plays levels beyond all the other sports games in this era. Bravo NBA 2K14

Gameplay is as polished as I could possibly want. It's the best playing sports game in video game history. I can't put it down. My wife hates me. Disappointing no new legendary teams. COME ON!!! But I'll not cry, that's why we have roster share! The blocking, the new controls scheme was overwhelming at first, but now, it's without question, the greatest video game ever. 10 out of 10.

I'll go ahead and repeat it, gameplay is very polished. PIP seems to be high again, but the gameplay is so fluid, I don't really feel bad about it. I think a lot of that is me just sucking at spacing guys correctly. Rebounding looks great, the one thing that bugs me is the perennial changing of the controls. I liked last year's, I was used to it, and now they change it again...Just find a good one, stick with it, and don't keep changing it, because I would like to be able to get better at this game, but I have to start all over every year resetting my muscle memory. It's really annoying 2k.

If that's my biggest complaint, there must be little wrong with the game. Looks and feels great, 2K, with a little slider adjustment for the inside game, will be a perfect 10/10.

Just a FYI you can change the pro stick back to 2k13 and 2k12. It in the controller settings

How exactly do you change the pro stick back to 2k13 control?

Not at all. Totally revamped

How do you play off ball. I mean entirely offball with the cpu bringing the ball up the court. On the xbox its player locked, I can only play offball defense not offball offense.
