Great. After having read all of the doom and gloom posts about this game, my expectations were very low. The game plays quite well for me.
I read alot of comparisons to 13 and that this game is not much of an upgrade. I disagree. I could not play 13 with the bumper cars after the whistle. Running stunk. The extra moves in 25 really give a big advantage over other Maddens.

I think if you would take the EA off and add a 2K to this title, you'd hear alot of different tunes.

My opinion of the game is not to disgard suggestions of improvements by Chris et al. The game IMO has a fun factor that has not been there in some time

I don't even need to play the retail copy to still need, it's still missing a lot of the fundamental aspects of football captured by 2k. So I respectfully disagree with you.

I plan to pick it up later today. I'm a casual Madden fan so I really enjoyed Madden 13. I'm looking forward to another great year with Madden 25.

Imo the game is too arcade. Tethered passing, too accurate qbs, qbs blowing up defensive lineman, no penalties, pocket passers successfully running the read option. It may have a fun factor it's lacked for years but to suggest EA just needs to be removed for people to love it like that other game is insulting.

i would love to say that its good, but i along with many other ps3 users cant even access the game without getting laggy menu screens and freezes when trying to access gamemodes such as connected franchise and mut. i havent even been able to get into one "play now" game.....definatley needs a patch: and soon

I agree with your points here and you get my main point of having a good time playing the game. Previous Madden's put me to sleep...

I apologize on the 2k reference, didn't mean for an insult. I was actually exaggerating my point with a little humor

IMO, it's not great.. But very good!

If it wasn't coming out on the Xbox One I would have picked it up for sure.

A few things here there are per usual bothersome bit it is what it is. Every game, every year, always has these issues. I think the fact I'm not a pure x' and o's football guy is why I enjoy it the way I do.

what aspects do you mean? what fundamentals did a game have 8 yrs ago that this one does not. I wnet back and bought 2k5 when i had madden 12 it didn't play that well compared to madden 12 so i cant see how 'fundamentally' it plays better than 25.

That being said i enjoyed the early release its nice having owner mode back and and when i find the right sliders to make the experience that much better for me! It was nice to also have the import roster feature back.Only issue i have is the read option D but all in all its not bad with some slider tweeks.

I've played a few online matches and a lot of the skills trainer and I gotta say I'm really enjoying it so far. Running the ball is a lot of fun for a change. Passing is a little too automatic but so far so good.

I normally am level headed person when it comes to reviews of games and I was not a 2k football gamer but what I played on the demo and the early release of madden for days I don't know how anyone who watches the nfl our played football or like sim football in general could give this thing a nod. I'm not falling victim to nostalgia or my hunger for nfl football to allow me to ignore the big and small problems the game has. Don't get me wrong it's a decent game it looks good for the most part but the movement is awful to look at and the over charged balance of offense over defense is glaring. It's countless little things that get on my nerves that I'm not even gonna list. This definitely seems to me like a ball out year to prepare for next gen. I just hope the nonsense that has gone on this current gen doesn't manifest itself on future iterations.

There is no reason imo to buy this game unless you just have to have football. This game feels like steps backwards from where I thought it was progressing to. Hopefully eA catches up with the pack like with the show and nba 2k and get it together but I'm unfortunately skeptical. It saddens me a Lil as a gamer and a madden fam since day it's first release. I'm staying to feel like I'm never gonna get that great madden game and get that feeling of waiting in line at midnight just to get my hands on it

No need to apologize for the what you said because I think it is true that if the game had 2k labeled on it people would be losing their minds like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread pointing out all the improvements made, but since ea makes it people only want to point out its short comings which aren't really deal breakers when you actually play the game. So IMO if u understand that no matter how good a game is it won't ever be perfect and the actual real life games on Sundays aren't perfect, you can live with the minor issues here and there instead of nit picking.

For me, this is the best madden I have ever played! A few slider adjustments and this game is a lot of fun.

Yeah, in the little time I got to play with it at my friends, I feel like this game is a solid game with the correct slider sets. I think this has the potential to be a good game. I always know coming in that all the sports games in the market right now aren't always gonna represent the game as accurately (and that does mean The Show and NBA2K, but that could change in 3 months with NEXT GEN) I judge by how much fun I can get out of this with football. And I'm had just as much fun with Madden 25, as I did with NFL2K5. But I do understand the complaints that the real football fanatics, as they know much more than me, and we both want football games that are fun and capture Sunday.

As for what that quote said, I'm pretty sure the only aspects 2K has over Madden as of right now on the top of my head, is a presentation package all around and fluid gameplay out of the box, I guess. People have the right though to expect that type of fluid gameplay right out of the box cause its their expectations.

Downsides on Madden are how the game looks, the colors don't always looks right to me and the jerseys in relocation is a bummer. I really wished we had Create A Team back, as that would've been a good feature. I'm sure most of us would've been fine with that. I'll be picking this game up in the future, and I can't wait for the OS rosters that will be coming out.

Madden 25 Demo is good. still may pick up the retail version this week
However, advantages that 2k has
you forgot to mention penalties, great foot planting. great defense play and reactions. solid line play, multiple options for throwing the red flag, the running game is still better on 2k. in Madden you can fall forward every time and still gain five yards. ball trajectories are still better than MAdden. The AI clock management, and game play awareness is still better than MAdden. more slider options.
Ill say this about Madden though- the clock management and CPU TOP has improved a lot this year. which IM happy about.

i've been a regular Madden buyer since 2008.
every year this game brought something new to the table, maybe not the best sports game in history but we saw improvemwents.
Madden 12 really set the tone for what to expect, and Madden 13 showed a lot of promise with the infinity engine.
then whaaaat?
Madden 25.

this game is ****.
and the weirdest thing is that imho the demo looks and plays better than the complete version.
i can't stand no more things like :
- the kicker standing freezed after a field goal or an extra point
- my team celebrating after an opponent's touchdown
- passes completely directioned to opposites DB hands
- no war in the trenches

NCAA 14 is way better than this **** and i'm staying whit ncaa.

for the first time since i discovered madden, i'm not buying this crap, and i really hope madden 25 next gen brings something to the table.

Exactly!! The days of a game without a patch or 2 are gone.Adjust your sliders to your liking this is a very good addiction to the Madden franchise. Its not a game that would blow you away, but a game you could enjoy.

I like it, but I am a football fan who only has one choice for videogame fb. It is a better game than last year. I didn't expect a leap because Next Gen will be here soon. That's the Madden I am more interested in. This will do for now. The game could use a patch though...

I made it 5 games in and am done with it.

I hear the same song played every first down which gets very annoying. Another issue is the away team always gets the cheers and music played too.

Line play is so screwed up. You can't get off a block and even while trying to run the opposite direction the linemen will hold me in place and can't move sideways or backwards. I thought this was supposed to fixed. I am stuck doing a dance/ canned animation with the offensive line. I've even tried changing the sliders to pass protection to 0 and it has made no difference.

Replay challenges - don't even know where to start here. First one I had I pick off a pass at the numbers my guy takes one step but doesn't take another step for 5 yards and is out of bounds... I challenge and the replay shows amazingly he never took 2 steps in the 5+ yards he ran just one foot skating around. The second replay challenge was a fumble on the sideline where the computer recovers the ball with both feet standing on the white line. I challenge to overturn it but I guess the white line counts as being in play now.

Also last time I checked in the NFL 65-70% completion was good. The computer amazingly completes 95% even with the sliders set to the 0.

I like the options for the connected careers the owner mode, but the gameplay what really has hurt this game/ franchise and continues to hurt it. I'm tired of being stuck in a animation when it was supposed to be all physics based anyways. I also love when the defensive back runs the route before the WR does a crossing pattern with the DB leading the way? Are you SERIOUS!!!

Quit lying about these stupid gimmick names you come up with each year to fool everybody "Run Free" "Precision running" it's the same issues every year and they slap a cool name on it each year and call it a day.

Another issue I noticed is the sideline animations. Tim Jennings who is 5'7" standing next to Julius Peppers who is 6'7" but are the same height on the sidelines. Really!!!! It also makes me laugh to see the animation where one guy walks over every series and puts his QB helmet on even if he's a linemen and then raises his hands like "what this is my helmet, right?"

I was planning on picking this game up but it seems so full of bugs I'll either wait until its patched or hang on for the next gen version.

Im having a lot of fun with it. For the first time in years I can say I will be keeping my copy rather than selling it after the first week
