File this under an interesting Kickstarter which caught our eye, an 8-bit soccer game entitled Super Goal Run. The game is being developed by Super Rock games in association with http://8bit-football.com/.

The project promises to bring 8-bit side scrolling football action to the PC, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms. The game draws inspiration from famous 8-bit style football games. Plans include to include two modes, an RPG-style career mode and a first-person action mode.

The game will feature basic football action, with multiple strategies to advance the ball up the field. Players will run along three tracks on the field, and your goal will be to get around players to score goals, either via avoiding them or performing tricks to get around them.

The game is currently in pre-production, but there are no working prototypes as of yet for players to play. The project's goal for funding is lofty, 25,000 in all. If you would like to check out the project, you can view it on Kickstarter today.

As with all Kickstarter projects, there is an inherent risk involved in donating as projects which are ambitious and meet funding goals still may not make it to market, so consider that and ask questions of developers before donating. However, from time to time we do like to highlight cool concepts we find that are sports gaming related on the site.

Oh man, at first I thought this was gonna be a Tecmo style american football game =(

But even though I don't like soccer, this looks cool.
