MLB 13 The Show News Post

With no MLB 2K coming to the XBox 360, it appears owners of the XBox 360 console won't have a baseball gaming option next season. MLB '13: The Show will be released exclusively on Sony Consoles, and it should be the only major baseball game on the market. With that in mind, what are you planning on doing next season for a baseball game?

I'm not into baseball. Wish I was, this game looks great.

Buying The Show as usual.

The Show is the whole reason I switched to PS3 back in 2007. No regrets.

As for my 2013 MLB gaming: Most likely rolling with MLB 13, but 12 has been so good I can see myself just sticking with it.

The Show is always a Day 1 buy for me!

Should be even more of a day 1 buy considering they actually worked on the franchise mode this year! I've been waiting for this iteration to drop since they announced they were planning to overhaul franchise two years ago!

Wasn't buying a baseball game anyways.

It would have been The Show, but I have lost my video game passion, over these last two years.

I have both MLB 2k12 and MLB 12 The Show. Accordingly, I'll wait until MLB 13 The Show drops to under $40 and then I will buy it assuming the reviews on it are good.

Nothing, I guess. Pray for an arcade game?

This will likely be the first year I do not buy The Show, at least right away, as it hasn't done much to "wow" me in the last few years outside of the physics update. I'm going with Pro Yakuu Sprits as my baseball game in 2013 since it will likely include the WBC. And my recent switch to PC gaming 90% of the time doesn't bode well for any baseball games coming out in 2013.

Like I said earlier, I may still get The Show, but it will not be a release day buy unless there is some great preorder deal.

2k makes great games, but I don't buy baseball. I hope something new emerges for all the 360 owners.

Have both systems and I've always bought a baseball game only to return them a month later. I realized I'm not that into baseball video games.

What really is going to be interesting is not what happens next spring but what happens when the new Xbox 720 (or whatever it's going to be called) drops in Nov/Dec, 2013. Is there going to be no new baseball game for it when Spring 2014 rolls around? I find that hard to believe since sports games are such a big driver for new consoles.

You left out,

-Have both a PS3 AND XBOX and are content with 2K12. That's what I would have voted.

I am absolutely obsessed with 12 but always look forward to the " new and approved " game. I'm stoked about franchise improvements and additions because I am pretty content with it as is.

My biggest fear and worry was from the statement that we will be able to pick up and play. I don't want it easier for sure. This game takes a ton of practice and that's the way it should be. Often, games will change core gameplay because they listen to gamers who have played it 3 times and complain that it is too hard and they can't hit. Please SCEA Keep it tough and keep it sim!

Picking up The Show when it comes out =D

# 19 Armor and Sword @ 12/03/12 08:06 PM
Buying The Show on release day.

It is the only sports game I will be doing that for and as a matter a fact it will be the only sports game I buy in 2013.

I have little doubt they will keep the core as it is and just have an easier level for those unable to play this game on Veteran and All-Star. But come to think of it....rookie is pretty damn easy.

Maybe it will be more of an arcade mode.

Either way....no concerns.
