Sound off: How impressive is NBA 2K13 right now to you?

The news just keeps coming on NBA 2K13, it seems as if there are a plethora of new features and additions that'll really make the game stand above and beyond other sports games at first blush. But there are reasons for pause as well, as the more features that are added to the game, that simply means there are more potential problem areas. And then there's the whole question of if online play will be useable from the get-go this season.

So what about it OS? Is NBA 2K13 a surefire winner, are you tempering your enthusiasm, or are you somewhere in between?

On fire for sure. Better controls, better gameplay, better MyPlayer and a brand new Ultimate team mode called MyTeam. I'm definitely impressed with 2k!

I'm very impressed... Just when you thought they couldn't do anymore.... Look at what they hit us with... 2k13 isn't even here yet and I'm wondering what's next.... Hats off to those guys for not taking a year off with no competition....

its super impressive to me. i got the game a week early last year hopefully this year itll be two weeks this year.

I always loved the presentation and extra stuff 2K brings. That said I'm not a huge fan of the actual gameplay, too many canned animations. Until that gets improved, the rest is just fluff.

Impressed and it looks good. However, I need to see how good the game is after the patches. That's my rule for all sports games.

From there, I'll grab it for $35 or less.

the presentation looks improved , my career looks very improved, glad they took off all the contact dunk from last year and made it more realistic , glad to hear my player pick up will be returning , glad shoe designer is in the game and association mode has finally been touched, you can play online games with legendary teams without DLC

BUT ,,,,

what worries me is as a player who mostly plays 2k ONLINE is ONLINE (did they finally fix their servers) can i play private team ups with no lag ???
the signature styles still sound a lil chessy (IMO but that doesnt mean it will be)
CREW is gone (idc it was fun even tho everyone had 8 footers i didnt and neither did ppl in my crew and without it made 2k12 become boring real quick -- in other words the mode is unique and is what my players are for)
will my player freeze again like it did every year ??

but other than that... the game sounds great

I'm tempering my enthusiasm this year. Every year I get super excited but from a competitive gamers standpoint 2k is consistently the most overrated game. When I judge a sports game the most important thing is are real life tactics the most effective way to win a game. If you have played any hall of fame level players online in 2k12 you will realize that answer is no.
Now some of the additions have me excited such as the dribble stick and hopefully the ability to break the AI's defense off the bounce. Also I am optimistic that one can actually play on ball d this year and the rediculous offensive cheese with the d just sliding out of the way has been eliminated. Also the manual bounce pass.
This game really needs to make the pick and roll effective as it is the most used and most effective play in the NBA, offensive AI to acutally be smart enough to fill a gap or postiion themselves to catch and lay in rather then bigs floating out to the 3 point line when they have wide open dunks/layups. And what about the standing Allyoops that were supposed to be in the game last year. If there is no option for the lob pass, which should have been put in years ago then it would be nice to throw the ally after breaking somone off the dribble and having help rotate. At least let the ball handler throw around players so they can finish rather then it be a turnover every time forcing players to shoot.
Currently NBA 2k12 is a 1 on 1-5 game with people always beasting Lebron/Durant/Jordan. Here is opening it will be more of a team game this year.

I will wait and see, but you can already see the huge expectations by OS community, Come launch day the forums are going to be great. People will be bashing something. Whethere its the servers, online play, the easy 3 pointers, no real fast break etc.

I still need more gameplay videos, there looked like a bunch of spacing issues in the IGN vid but the animations looked super smooth.

Gotta love those ppl who are disappointed or not impressed bc the gameplay videos look like last years. LOL did you play it?? NO!
With that said, I'm impressed, 2K is always raising the bar.

Im impressed but I already knew and expected this from 2k all the games are great Ive been playing 2k12 everyday and still see new things all the time, I hate when ppl complain about certain things it's hard to recreat basketball and 2k does the best job at it of you think you can do better go make a damn game or go buy live and I bet you will be right back on 2k door step... Now release the demo lmao

Umm??? Dnt lebron/Durant/Jordan dominate in real? So why wouldnt they in the game stop being stupid

I truly believe this will be the not only the Basketball Game of the Year, the Sports Game of the Year, but also the Best Sports Game of this Generation of Consoles. It may also be the swan song for single player sports simulations, although I hope not..

best sports game of this generations console? wow, its going to be a battle between 2k and fifa, fifa won 2012 easily, can 2k take the throne
