the only thing this game has going for it is the new passing/defense. Madden has the infinity engine so, its either ncaa 12.75 or madden 13

It is the same game with some shiny new gimmicks. Personally the focus or reaction button throws off timing for me and really doesn't make a difference. Easier to use skill stick alone.

It is fun to run around as Barry Sanders and Hershel Walker. But, unfortunatly that is all there really is. The corners track the ball better than the receivers(STILL). What is the point of a flair route if the receiver doesnt know the back shoulder throw is there. Maybe they should take the DB AI and put it into the receivers so they can figure out the point of the game is watching the little brown ball and catching it when it comes.

Running game is still the same the blockers are oblivious to the field and what is around them, if the HB follows the blocks most of the time you run into traffic or just get killed. User D desn't do this by the way. They are oblivious to balls runs or anything else.

As of right now same game as last year. Maybe some sliders can help, but the new shiny play modes meant to distract don't do their job. Definitely putting my money in Madden and NHL.

I have the early release and let me bullet point to tell you whats great and what I think is needed.

GREAT: Passing System, Catch animations, Crowd noise(Reactions to plays),Scouting and Recruiting.

NEEDS: 1.More uniforms. let me elaborate for a second. Arkansas is a top 10 team. They did not get their new uniforms in the game, Florida has new uniforms but no white helmet with the F on it, Oregon State no pro combats.... without rambling, Oregon has 9 helmets and 12 uniforms!!!!!!! holy crap can we see a little consistency here. I know they have the Nike owner as Alumni but damn.

2. Stat Tracking. I love how in Madden you always know after each play what that player has accumulated. Not only did NCAA not improve this... it is the exact same as last year.

3. Sponsors. You have all of these top brands... Nike, Under Armor, Addidas..... but none of the accesories except visors, gloves and shoes are branded. Not a biggie but would add great polish.

4. Presentation. Look the in game updates are great but they feel like cpoy and paste. NCAA needs a complete overhaul in the presentation, and the post game is also lacking.

5. The small stuff. Eye black, Reaching over the pylon for a score, fans rushing the field after an upset, in game Heisman race updates...... Im sure you guys can find many more.

NCAA is a buy for me but i am afraid that they are like Apple. they have the ability and know that we want more but just want to keep us buying. They should release a solid game that only needs tweaks like MLB the Show, or FIFA, or NHL...... blah blah blah I know. I love NCAA and the good outweighs the bad for me this year but I am really surprised at how much is left out each season.

My score: 8 out of 10

So far so good. The passing game and lack of jumping lb's is easiestly the best part of the game IMO

Zone coverage is absolutely broken.

Defensive swat and jump buttons (LB) and (Y) are still not working at all. Not very good quality.

I know this is miniscule but does anybody know if we are limited to black cleats or white cleats when we actually play with our created teams?

i'm having tons of dropped passes with no contact. Ball just hits their hands

Thank you everyone for posting their comments. I'm new to OS. But the forums have been helpful to me. I plan on downloading the rosters for NCAA 13 football. For those working on it thank you in advance.
My Xbox Live GT is: UGOOGLE DOT COM

I'd have to say that the run blocking is pretty good. Of course there is the occasional missed block but that happens. Plus these ARE supposed to be a replication COLLEGE players and lower player skill levels come into play. Remember, not to mention, ur own skill at running comes into play. I usually can anticipate the situations pretty well before they happen and use my blockers effectively but u can't always get that. Sometimes, your just gunna get tackled

Overall, I'm feeling this game. I'm just now coming to appreciate the improved audio. At first, in the demo, I couldn't hear the love for some reason. I do now.

And I gotta mention how the elimination of psychic DBs is oh so wonderful! And, to me, the CPU defensive coverage, especially zone, is so much better....although I can still chop them up. Lol. It's definitely more challenging. I have to really pay more attention to my progressions and up my anticipation of plays, now, more than ever.

Gunna play some more after this nap. Heh

All I can say is WOW. What happened to this game it's a mess. The blocking AI is so bad at time that I ran ace formation and a blitzing linebacker go into my backfield almost on every play. How can I run the ball? I feel that tI get sucked into a block and tackle, this was gone in last years game and now it's back. The game play should of been a focus this year and not the boring "studio updates". I just feel that this game just is not worth my $60 and I will still keep playing 12.

I just played the full version at a friends house and I'm downloading it on season pass as I type this. Being a Terps fan I'm a little disappointed that their stadium has not been updated in a few years. However, the game overall seems to be much better. I run the spread option. The QB in previous years would not take off running when the ball was snapped and note as soon as he get the ball in his hands the QB will take off running, the hesitation in previous years is gone! So for those of you that run option plays will love the improvement. PASSING! I love the new passing, and the reason I love it is because they didn't have to dumb down the defense like they have fixed things in the past. The just fixed the AI. If a corner or LB is not looking at the QB/ball he will not know it is in the air and will not pick it off with his back turned, and on the other side of the coin the WR has to bee looking at the ball also to have a higher chance of catching the ball. I will post more about the passing game after I have more time playing the game. The running game has seen a slight improvement, because the linemen seem to be more intelligent, they actually "try" to pick up the blocks they are assigned to. BUT keep in mind this is going to be based on you player awareness rating so if your lineman has a low AWR rating do not expect him to pickup his block 100% of the time.

I agree with you 100%, however I have noticed a few time when they display the stats before a play but I think I only saw it for the kicker before he attempts a kick, assuming he has already attempted a field goal in the game already, they do need to add this for the rest of the players.

Yeah, after we have time to play the game more we will find all the little things that bug us, the newness will wear off. Happens every year.

Make sure you have "AUTO SCRAFF" turned off and it will work much better.

My favorite part of the game so far also! I can't even count how many times I threw my controller last year because of a LB jumping to swat down a pass I tried to LOB over his head!

# 17 muse324 @ 07/08/12 04:30 PM
It's the same thing. I won't buy because you cant import players to madden this year. solid game, i just lost the will to buy because of the small extractions from madden.

# 18 jWILL253 @ 07/08/12 05:18 PM
It's average. I really like the new passing and catching mechanics, as well as the new Special Teams additions, but I'm really NOT a fan of how broken DB coverage is. At first, it was just zone coverage, but now I realize that some aspects of man coverage are broken as well.

And, if this were the PS3 version we were talking about, then this game would get a "bad" vote, because NCAA 13 looks like hot garbage on the PS3, graphically...

# 19 majesty95 @ 07/08/12 06:29 PM
I'm kind of disappointed with the game. The passing sysytem made some things better but other worse. The sim engine seems to have gone backwards. There are new animation issues. The default gameplay graphics look slightly more cartoon like than realistc...

Not nearly as many issues as last year from what I can tell, but many more than I think we should have to deal with. Disappointing.

I have the early release and all I play on is heisman I must say the CPU is way to hard sometimes the d-line always break through your o-line time after time sacking u in 3 seconds. And playing as an underdog in this game is almost to hard win.but I still like the game.i played this guy yesterday and he did a play action and my whole team fell for it I was like wtf?
