The first day of E3 week started off with a bang, with Madden announcing the inclusion of real-time physics and the new Connected Careers mode and with EA and UFC announcing a new multi-year deal. So which news item was bigger today, or did something else catch your eye in sports gaming?

I voted for Madden because I'm biased.

That said, the move by UFC from THQ to EA may signal the beginning of the end of non-EA sports video game titles. All that's left in that regard is: NBA 2K, Top Spin, MLB The Show, and WWE. Given THQ's poor corporate health, I wouldn't be surprised if WWE to EA is the next domino to fall.

I'm not sure EA wants WWE. Sure, they've got a successful thing going as far as ratings and whatnot, but how lucrative is that franchise? Surely it's not even on level with NCAA or UFC, which I see as being EA's threshold for wanting the rights.

Also, you're forgetting about MLB 2K. Unfortunately, that is still a thing.

The fact that NCAA '13 will NOT include Real-Time Physics. :/

wwe has 30 million fans that spend $$ like crazy so EA would want them

EA Sports made a WCW game back in the day, or a couple of them.

What happened to competition?? EA Sports AND THQ should both make a WWE game. All sports games should have competition.

The fact that Madden 13 is getting including a real-time physics engine and that NCAA 13 is NOT getting it were the biggest stories (in sports) for me today.

Madden getting a real time physics engine and how deep connected careers is. Also how NCAA series is once again treated like the red headed step child of EA by not getting RTP or connected careers. What do NCAA fans get ? Bullet time......

EA/UFC deal was a huge shocker too.

Im gonna say Madden only because I'm more of football fan than mma. But I will say this, I thought the news of UFC and EA joining forces was huge for those MMA fans.

Definitely the Madden news but one question. Can we still make our own playbooks? If you EA took that out, then you still don't get it. Create your own playbook definitely had its issues but, it was issues that could have been fixed. Last years NCAA 12 create playbook feature was better by making sure we could still have our own Audibles. That was the main issue in Madden 12 , which I think was an easy fix. Having your own playbook showed who was a real Madden baller and who wasn't. And as far as the UFC license, that's cool but I'm old school. I rather play a boxing game. And oh by the way capn_razzamataz, always remember this NCAA is always the football game that has the new added features that the new Madden has and what the previous Madden was supposed to be like. Trust me I worked for the company for 4 years and they are stubborn to change.....

Didn't Dana White say he would NEVER do business with EA? That's big!

But I voted for Madden......

Real Time Physics for NFL football is long overdue.

Went with EA/UFC joining forces because absolutely NO ONE saw that coming, especially after Dana's comments about EA a couple years back. The Madden announcements were kind of being speculated about on here for a while and wasn't as much of a shock as the UFC announcement.

RTP is the best news of the day by EA. Can't wait until the demo comes out and the full version of Madden13 hits the stores in late August.

Madden! by a long shot. EA teaming up with anyone for long terms gives me flashbacks of them killing 2K football.

Anyways, I just hope there is steak with this physics engine sizzle!
