And now, the second most overrated game of all time in MVP Baseball 2005 is possible to win? I'm voting for Tecmo Bowl.

I made my case for Tecmo Super Bowl in the semifinals, and since I see The Show being superior to MVP 2005, I'm voting for Tecmo Super Bowl.

Give me Super Tecmo Bowl on the 360 and I'll never play another football game.

It's Tecmo Super Bowl, hands down. I still play that game occasionally to this day. That's over TWO DECADES of a game still having appeal.

It was such an eye-opening experience!

P.S. Keep in mind this poll is being taken during baseball season. A lot of people on this forum are here to find info on The Show and what not. Results might be different if this was taken in late August or early September.

How funny. A game made in the 80s and a game made in 2005 dominated the tournament into the finals. Goes to show where the future of sports video games are headed.

MVP. Hands down. I appreciate the old time games, but come on now.

No it is called Nostalgia. If these games were released today with a different title they'd be laughed at.

Both games were revolutionary, but I am going with MVP. I played it all summer and actually got to the number 1 ranking online for awhile. The hitting was so realistic at the time, the fielding was smooth and introduced the analog diving, baserunning used analog to control your slides, and the pitching was solid too, plus they introduced the hitter's eye. They also had A,AA, AAA teams and a deep owner mode. Everything about the game was revolutionary and was ahead of its time. I seriously think some people look past how good the hitting engine was in MVP.

I had to vote for MVP. The Owner Mode was addicting and I played it non stop for years. The addition of the minor league teams was awesome as well for the time. Prior to getting a PS3 this past winter, I would still play MVP as opposed to 2K. Then I got The Show, and that's a different story... :P

I go back to the Atari 2600 days, so it isn't youth coloring my opinion of these games, but I actually hate both of these titles. I think that they're vastly overrated, and am stunned that, at OS, these two games would be so beloved. Oh well, it is what it is.

MVP 2005 for me because I played it on the PS2 and the PC for years.

Tecmo was solid but I never owned a Nintendo or Super Nintendo.

Where is the dislike button?

Tecmo Super Bowl all the way. I got a Nintendo solely for that game and would play through full seasons in a day all the time. I dust off the Nintendo once in awhile to fire it up too, that game is still fun to this day.

I never could get into MVP baseball. My college roommate played it all the time and loved it, but I just did not like it for whatever reason. I love MLB 2k12 though, which I uses some of the mechanics from it, so who knows maybe I'd like it more if I played it again.

It's nostalgia IMO.

The Show 2009-2012 are amazing and IMO the very best baseball gaming on a console. And then there is NBA 2K11 which is the gold standard of Basketball console video games. For me 2K11 and now The Show 12 are the cream.

But Tecmo Super Bowl and MVP 2005 are worthy finalists. Both games have given me hundreds of hours of great sports gaming.

My vote goes to Tecmo.

TSB FTW. Still play that game. It's just so... thoughtful! Artsy cut scenes. Full season play with injuries, changing player ratings through a season, changing play book, multi team control...

This game was leaps and bounds ahead of its time. It set the standard, and no football game has yet been able to capture its grandiosity.

MVP was really good, but not that much better than the previous year's version, ya know? I had nearly as much fun with All Star Baseball with its ability to create expansion teams.

Both really great games, but TSB wins it hands down. Anyone that disagrees must have been born after the Super NES days and lacks an appreciation for anything with less than one million colors on the screen.

MVP 2005 for me! Believe it or not it was my first ever import game from VG+! I cannot tell you how long I played and modded this game for!

# 18 Kaiser Wilhelm @ 04/03/12 04:03 PM
MVP. It was ahead of its time.

# 19 Skyboxer @ 04/03/12 04:06 PM
