Did EA's (presumably) final major patch do enough to make you feel as if an honest effort was made to fix what was wrong with the game at launch? You can vote on your right on the frontpage and above you in the forums.

IMO, EA Tiburon made an honest effort - very few games get four title updates - but for whatever reason it didn't pay off in quality post-release support in an adequate amount of time. I quickly lost interest in my online dynasty after the first round of support didn't resolve issues of incorrect game reports, failures to connect, introduction of new unrelated bugs through patches, etc.

One of the few times I'm willing to vote the extreme option, in this case being "an unmitigated disaster". They tried, and things may finally be acceptable now (I wouldn't know), but it took way too long to get to that point.

Hopefully Tiburon has learned from their failures this cycle and can release a more quality product next season.

What's up with everyone magically thinking EA looks over this forum? They make a pit stop here whenever they want to advertise their new game, answer a few questions, and leave.

I think he's getting at the idea that we all wish developers would pay more attention to consumers of the game. If they would maybe development would be better, but nothing's perfect.

How in the world can they come up with a statement like: "Sorry, but our code is so f***ed up, we don't even know what will break if we try to make tendencies work like they have to. Please come back for 2013!"
I mean, that is ridiculous. I work in the IT-Business and I have an idea of how a Program should look like and I never heard a statement like the above ever from a professional Software-Developer before.
To be honest, I really did believe the days of chaos scripting are over, not so at EA.
The biggest problem I see is, that they wonít get it right on this console generation, because they are not able to reengineer the game in an one year cycle and thatís why they will continue to work with what they have and this will make things even worse.
I really hope that they can prove me wrong, because I love the game of Football and I think that the EA football games could be great, but this year was a disaster.

Exactly, the freezing issue's ruined the game experience.

I for one, will wait for NCAA 2013.

Honestly, NCAA 12 was one of the biggest disappoints this year. Rarely can you touch a EA title lately and not get dozens of bugs and freezing issues. Their testing has some very serious issues and I think everyone needs to realize it is not getting better. If anything it has been on a steady decline.

List of issues I have faced this year in NCAA 12

Tendency issue
Roster freeze at main menu
delete all patches and tuners, game still would not start for a week
Game magically fixed itself
twice have I received transfer fail bug in online dynasty
Can't upload any highlights in online dynasty it freezes every single time
Freeze while recruiting in online dynasty
4 verts against cpu is still a gimmie
Lost connection to EA servers uploading online dynasty results and lose game results

That is just a handful of the major issues I have dealt with. That is not even getting into the array of gameplay issues.

I didn't even wait for the first patch to trade it in.... I couldn't stomach the game, for whatever reason.

NCAA 2012 is an **** fail off the field (I like the on-field gameplay) and the patch did it no favors

My online dynasty is still broken even with the new patch is anyone else having this problem?

Heck no it wasn't enough, all they did was make it playable for the online crowd for they can continue to run their online dynasties. Too many people have the attitude of well the online is working, therefore the game is good.

The whole team needs to be busted up and replaced. Don't have to fire them, just demote them and assign them to work on other games, because it is quite obvious they don't know football. Quite honestly I have seen better animations made in Blender by 12 year olds then what I seen in NCAA and Madden for the past 5 years.

And while they are busting up the team, they need to bust up their business plan and whole philosophy as well. This whole team looks like they are just burnt out on making football games for so long that they are at the point they don't even try anymore and just there collecting a pay check.

This whole generation of football will go down in history as the generation of when Madden and NCAA series became stale and stagnant for 6 years. Only thing they improved this generation was the graphics and online play. No pride....

I actually came in here wondering if I should purchase this game.
Welp, got my answer on that.

Disappointing from start to finish. EA couldn't have used QC on this product at all this year. Too bad their testing came at my expense!
Shame on you EA, for pushing out your first really broken game; just for the sake of MONEY.

cheers

Patch 4 was a failure because the issues it addressed shouldn't have been broken to begin with. I understand that games ship with flaws, I'm not naive to that; but this was ridiculous. There were minor issues that should have been addressed with patches but because every advertised feature (CC, playbooks, realignment) had issues; the entire patching process was needed just to get the game where it should've been when it shipped and those minor issues remain untouched.

I think the fact that 4 patches have been released and have forced them to make known (what many already knew) that they have issues with their code.

More telling is the fact that 6 releases has been built on this faulty code.

Even with the good things that NCAA 12 has, it's just so far behind were we should be at by now.

Some are able to force feed themselves to get that football fix, but I tried playing after 2 months away, and the game simply bores me.

If the 1st thing released about NCAA 13 isn't about an entirely new engine/code, then in essance, NCAA 13 will be nothing more than another attempt at tweaking this faulty code.

"Buyer Beware"!!!

BTW, has anyone seen Mr. Tuner?

# 16 mestevo @ 11/08/11 03:14 PM
If no more transfer failed (which only affected one of my OD players, not myself), then mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. Most of the other issues don't really affect me. As a consumer I am satisfied as I haven't really had any other problems with the game.

# 17 Dazraz @ 11/08/11 03:28 PM
With so many issues with this years game I would not be surprised if next year there was no NCAA 13.

# 18 WazzuRC @ 11/08/11 04:51 PM
No it wasn't enough, because it shouldn't have been needed. These things shouldn't have ever happened since it's never been this big of a problem before. And if it is, fix it within a month to six weeks.

It's ridiculous that after four months I can (hopefully) breathe easy with my online dynasty not getting transfer fails. It's pathetic that they actually came out and said they didn't want to patch anything else because they were afraid they'd break something different. To top it off, we get ONE tuner this year when we were told that would be an integral part of this and future releases?! Disappointing.

I will speak with my wallet next year with NCAA 13 and I hope everyone does the same. Even if you do plan on getting it, do yourself a favor and wait a few weeks after release. EA needs to get the message. I can't wait for devs to come out of the woodwork next spring touting some new feature that will revolutionize the way you play college football, because it's all just spin and hype. After release, they all just disappear.

Up to this point i've just been playing NCAA 2011, i was waiting until Black Friday to purchase NCAA 2012. After reading through the message boards I'm starting to think that even at the reduced price the game isn't worth it. I generally only play offline Dynasty mode, is this game worth picking up on sale?

# 20 Darkeus @ 11/08/11 06:58 PM
For the first time since the NCAA game series has been going I traded this game in before Winter was over. NCAA 12 was a major disappointment. I really can't understand why they cannot implement features that were going strong on the Ps1/Xbox.

I don't know if I will be buying NCAA 13. I really hope 2K games makes a football game since the exclusivity is over with the NCAA I believe.
