Cool prize, I have one myself. However I wanna make an editoral note to the prize. You can not use the HD-PVR to broadcast in real-time on sites like Justin.tv or ustream.com

However, they do work great for recording HD video and the pass-thought is lag free.

Thanks for that chris, I was under the impression that you would be able to broadcast with this device. I edited the post to reflect accurate information about the prize.

As someone who owns one, I highly recommend the Hauppauge -- good prize.

Actually, are you certain of that chrisphil? I found a few tutorials: http://wn.com/How_To_Live_Stream_With_HD_PVR_Hauppauge__Tutorial

You'll have to jump through hoops to "stream" which is essentially just capturing your desktop. (Which you'll have to buy software to do) I don't recommend this because it's SO laggy and a lot of people have issues when it comes to audio (and not having a soundcard.)

Awesome prize. I'd love to win one, but I doubt I'll be able to play enough to get all the points needed.

You guys are doing great with this so far.

You never know BlueNGold, its the top 3 who win one! And just to be clear, it doesn't matter how many points you have right now, its how many you accumulate throughout the contest. I'll be updating this thread throughout the weekend with the leaderboards once the competition kicks off.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah honestly while I have my own Hauppauge I don't use it much because it's kind of broken. I wanna get a Blackmagic Intensity Pro. The Hauppauge has very poor proprietary software.

I've spent almost a year trying to perfect things with the Hauppauge and even then it's still mediocre at that. It captures great but even then the functionality from ArcSoft is sooo limited. :\

Yeah the Hauppauge is really effective only if you have editing software, I would concur with that. If you do have editing software though, it's a great little device and is much more user-friendly than a Blackmagic I would argue.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I'm sure this would sell on the second-hand market for a pretty penny!

Request USB 3.0 which a lot of people don't have. Believe it or not, I stream "HD" by down converting hd to sd and streaming the SD because it's easier to handle.

Don't forget guys, there are no restrictions on who you play. Invite your friends and play them all day!
