This app is for use with EA Sports© NCAA Football© series on the Xbox 360© and Playstation 3 consoles©.

With Pocket Scout™ College Football you can now take your team from cupcake to powerhouse by finding the best players available to you in recruiting. How many times have you been able to land that prized five star recruit only to have him show up to school rated lower than the three star backup you signed? Well now that is a thing of the past. With Pocket Scout™ College Football you are now able to see how good your recruits are. All you have to do is select the players grade in a given category and his overall rating will be displayed.

The letter grades span a range of numbers so you will be able to see the highest your player will be rated as well as the lowest rating he might have. 90% of the time the player falls within a point or two of the average.

There is also color coded categories for each position so it is easier to determine the most important attributes for a given position. Red is the most important followed by Blue, then White.

Another great feature is position grouping. Since DE's can play DT and vise-versa this app will quickly show you there possible rating at both positions. This is also true for OL, LB, DB and K/P. Just because a player is not a top tier cornerback does not mean he would not be a nice addition at free safety. Pocket Scout™ College Football will allow you to easily find these diamonds in the rough.

This app is now available in the Apple Appstore for $1.99. There is also a lite version in the approval process right now that will only include HB, OL, and K/P for those who want to wait and try before you buy.

Is this for online dynasty, offline or both?

Great idea though, hopefully this works well.

That is freakin awesome!!!

I better be able to turn this off in Online Dynasty's. This would be a really unfair advantage.

So it doesn't actually integrate with the game. You simply enter in your recruit's grades in various areas and it projects how they'd be rated. I can't figure out if this is cool or not I think it's worth $1.99 though to find out.

Oh. That's cool. I wish it was kind of like the online franchise thing for iPhone with Madden, but with recruiting.

Just bought it. With recruiting online this year, I'm committing myself to maximizing the recruiting experience

It's not one of the game's "features" so there's no way for anyone to turn it on or off.

I'm like Cito, can I DL this to my PC or is it only for the IPhone? It would indeed be worth $2.

Hey guys, just to answer a couple questions, yes it is only for the iPhone right now. Currently the app supports NCAA 2010, and I already have the code for the 2011 written, but I am awaiting final information on what the speed, bench and squat number ranges are this season. As soon as I get this information i will have an update posted for the NCAA Football 2011 since how player overall rating are calculated has changed drastically from 2010. Speed now means a lot less and unlike last year AWR and ACC means more.

This was a little pet project of mine, hopefully it will be well received so my wife will allow me more time in that Research and Testing phase (aka playing NCAA 2011) .

Kind of cool I guess, it will be good for people who don't necessarily know what to look for in a recruit.

Also I will be giving away a free copy of the app everyday between now and the release of the game.

Pocket Scout, any chance this app gets added to the Android market?

I regret to say not anytime soon, since I do not have an Android phone for testing purposes. Once I finish the 2011 update I will be looking at possibly a Madden app or look more at porting PSCF over to the android. But if I do so I would need the help of someone with an Android phone to do testing for it.

Let me know if you decide to do some droid development, if its not too complicated, I'd be willing to help with the testing.

Do you know roughly when the update for 2011 will be out? Are we talking a few days after NCAA 2011 drops, or will it be a matter of weeks?

I have a message out to Adam about getting the missing information I need. If he is nice enough to send it over it will be have the update in the Appstore within a day or so of release.

If not I will have the info the night of release and submit it to Apple within a couple hours. I have already have all the formulas finished but I need to know if the 40times, bench and squat relationships and numbers are the same as in 2010, and if not I need to get a copy of the new ones.

The first app took 6 days to go through the acceptance process so that is about the only estimate I can give.

Thanks

Sounds good. I purchased it today and look forward to using it.

Actually after thinking about it I will go ahead with the 1.1 update and try to get it out asap so hopefully it is in the store by release day.

What it will do is instead of having exact values for speed, strength, and tackle I will just use the players letter grade for them. This will slightly take away from some of the accuracy, but it will allow you guys to hopefully be able to enjoy it on release day.

If Adam is nice enough to send over the info I'll put out the update with it, and if not on release night I will just finish up 1.2 and have it sent in to Apple for approval.

And also thank you for your interest in this little app of mine. I'm doing this as a way to make a couple extra dollars for my family. I know $1.99 is not much but every purchase really does help me out. Again, thank you to all who have purchased this app and those who will.
