Interesting news. I didn't see this posted anywhere else. What could it be? NCAA Baseball maybe?
That would make my year if it were a new college baseball game.

Didn't THQ and WWE put together a new deal? If not that's a pretty good guess.

codemasters' Indycar license deal runs out at the end of the year...here's hoping for a Indycar game...from another website;

I asked one of the people at the IRL why we hadn't had an ACTUAL IRL video game since Indycar 2005 and I was told: "The company Codemasters owns the video game rights until 2010 to any game containing the IRL, or current drivers, tracks etc.. We can get away with releasing games like Indianapolis 500 legends for the Wii released under license of Indianapolis Motor Speedway because it contains no current drivers, etc.".

So a few months ago I sent an email to codemasters and basically stated to them that the IRL fans want a video game (which I believe is also a great marketing tool) and if they have NO INTENT on making one until their contract expires in 2010 turn the rights back over to the IRL. Codemasters responded to me:

"Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning IndyCar Series. Unfortunately we are unable to discuss licensing agreements due to legal reasons. Sorry."

My guess is a WWE game or an arcade NBA Live game, sort of like Madden Arcade or NHL 3 vs. 3.

Pastapadre came up with the WWE game when this first came out a few days ago. I don't believe WWE fits under sports since it's not a sport it's entertainment. It's also American most likely so throw out Rugby & Cricket, I hope.

New Sports Titles:
Lacrosse
Olympics or anything in the Olympics
Bowling
Indoor Soccer
some other niche sport

Know it's coming but hasn't been announced yet:
World Cup 2010

Bring back from dead titles:
MLB(would require purchase of Take Two....)
NCAA Baseball
Arena Football
NBA/FIFA arcade
Mutant League

Something new would be a niche title, the only thing "new" that would be a success right off the bat would be the unannounced FIFA World Cup 2010 game which would be FIFA 10 with a World Cup mode. It should be DLC but it'll be a new title that will make money.

NCAA Baseball would rule. MVP Baseball would as well. I think it would be neat if they made a Team Builder Baseball. Make it like Baseball Stars.

NCAA Baseball with a Strong Online Dynasty, and I'll take a "good" recruiting system.

Please.

My guess is World Cup 2010 or NCAA Baseball on the Next Gen systems. If it truly is NEW, it will be a WWE title

WWE would be made by EA Sports almost guaranteed. All of your new sports titles have zero chance of happening in this environment and others such as NCAA Baseball, Arena, and Mutant League would not sell anywhere near enough to be considered in this market.

It's either a WWE game, FIFA World Cup 2010, or some small XBLA title (most likely FIFA/NBA).

There is a small outside chance it is an MLB game too, but I have serious doubts 2K would gotten out of their exclusive third party licensing agreement without anyone knowing about it.

I would like Lacrosse. The College Lacrosse game came out on the Xbox Live Indie Games and it was pretty successful

Lemme see here....
College baseball would be a great way for EA to get an engine ready when the current MLB deal ends. Rugby has global appeal. Lacrosse is a hot sport, in terms of rising participation in some parts of the country. How could that new Xbox marketplace game compete with EA? I'd love to see a college hockey game. Lewis Hamilton signed with EA to do a racing game, but nothing ever came of that.

I could care less about another arcade game, a beach soccer game, or a wrestling game.
