There was no alcohol involved apparently.

Also, his airbags did not deploy so that means he was going slower than 33 mph.

Maybe he fell asleep?

I hope he didn't have a heart attack or something similar. The only other news I heard was that the car wasn't going more than 30 mph (and no air bags released) and that it wasn't alcohol related. The only thing I can think of (considering all we know) is that he had some other sort of medical problem while driving that caused him to crash. I can't imagine how else he'd be in serious condition.

Prayers out to you Tiger.

It's under investigation... there may not be any charges. He did crash into the tree in his neighbor's lawn so maybe that's what they're investigating charges for. Or maybe they hadn't determined that there was no alcohol involved when they made that original statement.

Maybe they thought he pulled out of his driveway way too fast and it would be reckless?

Obviously I don't know enough about the accident to say why they were considering charges.

damn...hope he's OK. He's the only reason I got into golf.

This situation reminds me of Ben Hogan. Hopefully Tiger can make a complete recovery.

This link that mentions info from the Florida Highway Patrol says alcohol was not a factor. This all seems weird though.

/I don't take credit for finding these links on my own. Thank posters on Fark.

Hmm, I wonder if he was wearing a seatbelt? Facial lacerations on an accident under 33 mph.

That's my uneducated guess.

Plus, that would explain charges. You can get a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.

I really HOPE this isn't a love triangle thing. There are all types of rumors swirling around about Tiger having an affair.

This sucks.

Hope he's alright, and this isn't as bad as Charlie Davies' wreck.

This sounds very strange.

This reminds you of Ben Hogan? Ben Hogan nearly lost his legs! There was no chance he could play golf again but through willpower he made a comeback.

Anyways I hope it isn't too serious. This story is VERY fishy though. Hopefully Tiger's ok.

The airbags have nothing to do with the speed of your car.

That's not my opinion, every article that talks about the crash said the bags didn't deploy because it was under 30 mph.

Well I meant...golf great getting in a "serious" car wreck...reminds me of Ben Hogan. Sounds like Tiger is going to be alright though.
