Madden 2010 News Post

EA has just posted another Madden NFL 10 blog.

"Hey guys, Yuri B. here welcoming you to our first designer blog entry for Madden NFL 10 on the Wii. For those of you who arenít regulars on the EA forums and donít know me, Iím one of the designers working on this yearís version of the game. As is typically the case with these blogs, weíll be covering a wide range of features that are new to this yearís version of your favorite football game on the Wii. In this particular blog however, Iíll be revealing a lot of the new ways in which youíll be interacting with the game when youíre out on the field.

You know, itís crazy to look back and see how incredibly different this game has turned out to be in comparison to last year. If youíve been following the progress of this game (or even casually browsed a gaming site in the last month), you already know that this yearís version of Madden on the Wii has a whole new look and feel, starting first and foremost with our new player models and stadiums. Theyíve been getting the bulk of the spotlight recently, and rightfully so, but by far the next biggest impact this year will be some of the great innovations weíve made with the addition of the pointer, both as part of the interface and on the field. I think youíll find that itís opened the door for a number of exciting new features that once again change your Madden experience on the Wii for the better."

I got Madden 08 for the Wii and it was alright...

I wonder how many people at OS will actually get Madden 10' on the Wii?

Might want to change the title to add that it is the Wii version specifically.

So you can only throw to a receiver and not a spot on the field?

If so, that blows and the Wii version went from a rent at least to a not even bother.

I don't want to be rude, but I think "Wii" needs to be in the title of this thread. The majority of the people here don't care about the Wii.

You know what I don't get? How can Madden Wii have a custom playcall, but Madden for 360/PS3 doesn't?

I mean, the fact that they have an advanced playcall for Wii is a little strange to me. I would think they'd just have it all simplified since that's kind of the idea of the Wii version, and the demographic they target. But the fact that they have options is smart nonetheless.

From the blog:

"The play call system has undergone a bit of a makeover this year and one of the first things you’ll notice when it’s time to call a play, is how we’ve restructured the system to incorporate the skill level of the person using it. You’ll be able to choose from one of three play calling styles: All Play, Intermediate or Advanced."

It's a concept that makes absolute sense. Instead of forcing a stripped playcall on everyone, the Wii team actually considered that not everyone wants that, and left options. Nice job Madden Wii Team, nice job... I won't actually be playing Madden Wii, but nice job still

I'll probably end up picking up 360 and Wii. Best of both worlds.

looks pretty darn good for a Wii title.

Good news for the wii people I guess. I thought this for all systems. The way I see it this blog was mainly for wii owners.
