not bad...its getting better...the demo you play one min quarters, the song from "Zapp" More Bounce to the ounce" is old skool, and I love the song...its a change from the big 2 ,live and 2k9..actually may give it a go since,I love the run -n gun type game not a lot of thinking..just play, and it is smooth as can be,frame rate that is the icon passing seems a little off maybe and hopefully its the demo?...anyways its getting better each year in my opinion...

Not bad.. Its getting there. Its actually playable this year.

I know its just a demo but I'd like to see what they have to offer in terms of sliders. I think with a few tweaks we could get a very good basketball game. It did have a run and gun feel to it. But you could also control the pace unlike past versions.

The sound was a bit off, from announcing the players names, to the crowd being almost mute? It made the game feel like it was missing atmosphere.

I have to say the dunks are well done.. IMO they are better than Live and maybe a step behind NBA2K. I saw Kobe pull off a variety of different dunks and layups. It seems like they added a ton of new animations this year.

I had fun.. Wish we could explore the options a bit more. But I will be keeping an eye on this one.

It's not that bad this year. Few things I noticed within the first 1 minute quarter of play. The players do not move on the tip off until your player get's the ball. A little robotic here. Some of the shots that go through the hoop make you feel a bit unsure whether or not you scored. The net barely moves. That's only on some of the shots, not all. Passing is MUCH improved over last year. It's not like last year's "Bryant passes to Odum, the pass is intercepted by Garnett, pass to Pierce, it's stolen again!!!". Really love the new broadcast view. Animations are MUCH imrpoved over last year as well. Saw a lot of great post up animations. I really love the post up game this year. The ball is no longer bright orange, plus there The game moves very fast. Which can be fun depending on how you like to play the game. Fast breaks are quick. No lock on D, so if you are used to that from the 2k series, defense could be a little difficult. Takes a little getting used to. Gave up a few baskets down low because the AI and will just spin/crossover right passed you and there really is nothing you can do about that. What really gets me very excited about the game is how liquid smooth the gameplay is. No matter what the camera view, you are locked in at 60fps. Very nice. If I really had one major complaint, aside from the atmosphere and the sound of the crowd, it is the shooting animations. I don't mind not having sig shots, but they should have at least make it easy to differentiate between a lefty and right handed shooter. They look a bit awkward. All in all, the game is much improved over last years game. It's absolutely playable

Pros
Player Introductions is pretty cool
game plays so much better than last year
The player faces have been updated and most on the demo look pretty good.
The life is going to a be a great change of pace mode
Kenny Smith is actually pretty good here, someone needs to fire the script writer from 2K
I love the TNT broadcast as well as the cutaways
Great Create a player feature.

Cons
The game had a generic feel to it, no signature style, not a lot of personality.
Run and Gun style gameplay can turn some off.
The crossovers and spin moves are limited.

In conclusion, call me mildly impressed with the demo, full 1 minute game and 2 minute life demo. I think this game could make some noise in the next couple of years. It lacks the MLB 08 polish but the team is on to something. It looks like we will three good basketball games this October

finally got to play it and I played the live demo just for comparison.
The animations and frame rates are much improved and better than in Live.
The TNT broadcast are cool. I personally like games that make me feel like I am watching TV. The dunks are better than live.
Like previous posters said it could use a bump in the atmosphere but that might go up in the real version and might be improved in "the life" mode.

The demo was cool and doesn't even really get into the best part of the game which is "the life"

Thumbs up - By no means the perfect NBA game but its getting a lot closer.

Pretty solid game, I had some fun playing and you can tell the SCE team is trying. I would say I have seen a pretty big improvement over last year's edition.

Some passing, rebounding and stealing still seems forced. The animations are just 100x speed and look really robotic. The biggest problem passing is the ball just zips from player to player but hopefully some sliders can fix this. They also need more dribbling animations as that hasn't been improved and seems really generic.

Shooting feels really good though with the meter and I've seen some nice driving animations. Graphics are solid and ball phyics with the rim/net are top notch.

Demo also has a little quick two minute demo for Life mode. Looking pretty good so far. I haven't had time to check but hopefully you can just player lock your player and not use the entire team.

Also in the time out cut scene, when the coaching is telling you that you need to get it done... the look on Allen's and Pierces faces are priceless. It looks like they're just standing there thinking what about us coach?

WOW this game sux, I the players models run around in cut scenes like there form Blue Oyster Bar from police academy, from playing the demo, I wouldn't even rent It. This can't be the same Sony who makes MLB the show.
