PSX Extreme has posted their impressions of NBA 09.

"The build presented felt extremely early as, occassionally, it wouldn't make calls. In one example, the opponent's basketball bounced on the top-frame of the background, and no call was made."

That's the problem about this game. It's always "Doesn't look (feel/play) bad", rather than "Looks (feels/plays) great!".

HAHA thats about right. Even though I have 07 and it looks great, you start playing and you just wanna say meh, for me because of the arcade gameplay. I really hope they can get this game to be more sim. Obviously they have the skill/talent to do it.

What is the top-frame of the background to which he is referring?

I assume he ment the ball landed on the topmost part of the backboard the part that gets a whistle when the ball touches it and you cant shoot over from behind(thanks Larry Bird)

Actually, the play doesn't get blown dead when it hits the top, only when it breaks the plane on the out-of-bounds side of the backboard (toward the support bars on the stanchion)... I think...
