News Post

OK, to be more specific with the morning links. Please comment on them to generate discussion. This way, I can guage what interests readers and what doesn't. It makes for good conversation and I'll know what to look out for in the next update. If you guys don't comment on specific links, I'll just figure there is no interest in those topics. Hope that makes sense. This is another way of getting to know our readers and as the staff chimes in, an easier way to get to know them as well. We have a solid community here, I just want to get to know them a little better, the morning blurb is a great place for this to happen. Hope that makes sense.

Not a big fan of riding the bike in the rain. I got lucky yesterday as I just had a few drops come down on the way home. It looked like I was gonna get poured on. Hoping to get my exhaust system before the 4th, but it's not looking too good.

What's up with you?

2 days till vacation!

I usually check out the humorous stuff (like the Cracked.com articles) and the gaming news. I'm not so interested in the tech/PC articles.

I eat instant oatmeal for breakfast that has cinnamon on it. Other than that, I don't eat too many of those foods.

QOTD: Video reviews would be cool.

I actually like the way you do these and the after dark ones now. I like that they seem to be stuff that you find interesting and they give me something different to look at each day that I might have not found otherwise.

If you narrow them down to just sports/video games, it will be the same stuff I've read everywhere else.

Keep it random.

I read most of the links. I def look at the vid games links (PS3/360 specific) and anything humorous. The above links that reference 2.4 made me pretty dang excited to own a PS3, seems things are coming around. Some i cant see at work (And i really wanted to see the mutant superheroes)

The fantasy baseball owner reminds me of all fantasy owners, we are so dang serious about it (not that im any different.)

QOTD: Im surprised no one uses the chat feature more.

I leave for work in four minutes. I'm so excited to deliver everyone's mail and I hope there are a lot of catalogs and other nonsense (not).

I'm always interested in reading in the PS3 FW news. With 2.4 dropping tomorrow, it should be a solid day.

QOTD: I really can't think of anything that could be added that isn't already here.

I like the new bluetooth headset. I don't really play online but for some reason I want it lol. The fantasy baseball thing in the onion was hilarious.

QOTD: I second the video reviews. I also would like to see a look back at old sports game feature. Where you could show the gameplay. And discuss what what was great back then about the game and how far we have come. In fact maybe I could do that for you Steve.

That fantasy baseball link was hilarious

QOTD: Dynasty Manager...is it still in the works?

# 7 aukevin @ 07/01/08 09:19 AM
Usually with your links, I only click on the ones that have videos or images unless it is an article that really jumps out like the mutant one from today. I usually check this thread first thing in the morning, so my mind isn't quite ready for a lot of reading, so I enjoy the images and videos.

QOTD: I would like the Podcast to return

Put that ahead of video reviews for me. I can always listen to the podcast at work. I don't always watch the videos at home.

Those Pac-Man look alike pictures are pretty cool. I never realized how many things in life look like Pac-Man.

What's up?

Things are starting to get back to normal for me. We closed on the new house a week ago, the movers came on Friday, and all weekend was spent moving the silly little random items that didn't get packed. My wife and I have to be the most inefficient movers in the history of mankind. I absolutely HATE moving but am looking forward to actually being a home owner (first time).

I've met a few of the neighbors already...one guy across the street seems pretty cool. Next door to him will be our crazy neighbors. Living in that house is a guy, his wife, and his wife's ex-boyfriend. Nope...not kidding. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Springer film crew.

QOTD:

I think a fully functioning mobile version of the site would be great. One that's optimized for mobile phones.

Someone mentioned the return of the podcast. It's coming, folks. I'll be back in the saddle sometime next week...it's been too damn long! I've just been quite busy with buying the new house, going on vacation, and all that kind of stuff.

Ha, the fantasy baseball rant was awesome. Me and my guys will do the same thing in our CBS League as you can write out articles on the main page. My team has been terrible lately and my huge lead in my division is now gone, at least I am still in line for a playoff spot.

As for the links, I read the gaming links, any PC/Technology links, sports links, and othe random stuff that catches my eye. To agree with ewto16, I like the random aspect of it.

If a dynasty manager is in the works for OS, that would be cool. Have never done one, but have always wanted to.

Haven't read up on the PS3 2.4 update. Is Home in this update, or is it just for trophies and the XMB bar? I guess I don't care much about gamerpoints and trophies, so what else is so good about the update? :-)

QOTD - User movies section like gametrailers.

PS3 2.40 update tomorrow! Woohoo!

QOTD: I'm stealing this idea from ODogg, but a community calendar where you can mark your availability for online gaming would be really cool. Would make it super easy to find OS'ers to play with.

I like this one too! I'm getting tired of playing with randoms on GTA IV.

LOL, could be some entertaining "What's up's?" coming from you in the future.

QOTD: I second the user generated content in terms of videos.

Wow, a community online gaming calendar and making the site mobile-accessible would definitely be huge additions. Why aren't these guys in the Idea Committee?

As of right now I purposely avoid visiting this board on my phone because it just takes too long to scroll through comments. Mobile-accessible, please!

The article on the mutant people was pretty cool. Uber-baby is awesome. I remember reading about that four years ago. As for the guy with the jet pack. Well, perhaps he does think that Superman talks to fish.

Hah, I drink pomegranate juice and eat frozen blueberries! Suck it, New York Times.

I'm big on cinnamon and I love blue berries. I'm going to mix the two!
