Four more days until we know if money talks. I definitely am crossing my fingers for at least one more NBA 2K title before I take a hiatus on sports video games. If only we were in a perfect world. That is a truckload of money.......

Nothing happens until well after GTA is released and Take Two can see how that helps their situation.I really don't believe Take Two will just give themselves up to EA,which will mean a drawn out battle, much like Microsoft and Yahoo.

My biggest fear through all of this short term is a delay for GTA to change stuff in the game to put EA in and TT out if the deal was done before it's release Of course, that's a small detail to consider when you think of the bigger picture and what this means for sports gaming. I said it in the Fact or Fiction a few weeks ago, but I feel this deal is going to be done before the end of summer at the very latest

Its all over!! Now we are stuck with all around crappy sports games excpet for NHL and FIFA. Those 2 are the only decent ones left.

I think EA is just trying to sneak the deadline in right before GTA hits shelves definitely because they know that their current offer might not even stand a chance once those figures come out.

I'm sure those fears are probably valid for EA, but you also have to consider that there are a lot of new Take Two Stockholders these days that got on just for the payoff from EA as well which drove the price up. I just think that there aren't any good reasons why this deal won't get done very soon. I wish I could sunshine pump things a bit and say how much more the quality of games will go up with the two sports studios joining forces but we don't even know how this whole thing is going to shake out. The only thing I would say for certain is that EA won't release two NBA games or two NHL games.

I think this case is very different than those. VERY VERY different. It would be like Pandemic owning the Lord of the Rings license which they developed an RTS for. If that were the case, would EA release two different Lord of the Rings RTS' within a couple of weeks of each other? I don't think that would happen. I think the same can be said for two NBA games of the same mold or NHL.

For a company supposedly sold to EA, this is very interesting....

not really. if they're going to play the "we're not selling" game in the hopes of driving up the price they need to act like its business as usual.

personally I think its just a matter of time before this gets done. It isn't a question of "if" but instead "when" and "how much."

Video basketball has been going up and up with the 2K series. If this haooens, I just hope they're not too proud to see the other game is better. YEARS and YEARS better.....not even in the ballpark. MANNN...it would be so hard to be stuck with Live. I'd probably just quit basketball. Live is so far behind, I can't even IMAGINE them catching up...

# 15 gta95 @ 04/14/08 11:32 PM
I ****ING HATE EA!!!!! If you guys want to play another decent sports game for maybe the rest of your lives, lets hope this doesn't go through and T2 can get their **** together

# 16 eDotd @ 04/14/08 11:39 PM
So what exactly would T2 have to do for this to NOT happen?

# 17 RubenDouglas @ 04/16/08 04:22 PM
yet they cant spend an extra $25,000 to hire a QA guy to make sure Madden's jerseys are right.

im done with this crap with EA.

I'd think EA would bring back MVP Baseball with MLB teams if they acquire the MLB license, and would have access to code for the other 2K Sports games to improve upon the EA Sports ones.

What's to say that the 2.15 billion won't?

They would be acquiring a franchise with a very good basketball product.

EA might very well consider combining the teams. Never know.
