Demo Features:
- 1.1gb
- 4 minute match
- France and Germany are the only teams
- ability to play Be a Pro mode
- ability to change controller options (ie: new/classic control layout, passing/shooting assists, auto-switching level)
- the game is played in the rain
- ability to change camera...you can now play Be a Pro mode using any camera angle you wish.

I really enjoyed Be a Pro mode in the demo. You teammate AI while on offense is very smart when it comes to making runs and finding open players. Defensively, they don't seem as reliable, mainly in terms of failing to cut out ground passes that they should.

I only played one game in standard mode (controlling each player on the team) and the AI France were putting together some very impressive passing moves, especially on counterattacks where they would usually wait until drawing the defender before making that killer pass.

I still experienced some latency when bringing my keeper out and it was very sluggish controlling him when he the ball in hand.

Graphics and presentation are typically great but they still have the same lame substitution cutscene.

Despite the size, i'd say its well worth the download.

Something I noticed right away was that the player control seems to have been tightened up and the response time is much better.

Also, the camera choices are MUCH better than those in FIFA. The choices are TELE, CO-OP, Classic Dynamic, and Broadcast. Every one of them is playable. Excellent job EA!

Because the game is on Semi Pro, it is very easy to get up and down the pitch on offense, so at this point it's tough to tell how the difficulty levels will play out.

The trick moves are easier to do.

The game speed, while it's slightly faster than FIFA is not a problem at all. I know a lot of people equate a faster game to an arcade game, I wouldn't say that that's the case....so far. It's not as fast as PES2008.

Graphically, this game is unreal. They've implemented the weather perfectly. Coupet made a diving save and water splashed around him when he hit the ground. The stadiums and atmosphere are great as are the player models. I like the cut scenes to the managers, but I'm sure that will get old unless there are multiple animations programmed into the final product.

Same tactical options as in FIFA 08....that's bad.

Because the game allows you to play 2 minute halves, it's difficult to tell whether or not the foul problem has been addressed. This is HUGE for me.

Those are my very quick impressions.

I played lovely long ball with Henry to Trezeguet leaving him all alone with Lehmann. The same ball in FIFA 08 would've gone straight to the goalkeeper.

I've only played one game but I'm really liking it, it's very smooth.

I really like how they changed up the jostling, now your players aren't stuck together like in FIFA 08 and you can actually stand a few feet in front of the opposing player and time your jump to win the header, very cool.

Sounds like some encouraging stuff guys. I just started my download as I'm about to head to a job interview. Hopefully it will be done when I get back in a few hours. I'll post my impressions after I get a few games in. BTW, it says in the marketplace that the game ships May 19th...

I'll echo just about every positive thing said above. Just a great game all around and I can't wait for it.

THRU BALLS ARE WORTH PLAYING! <-- I can't say that enough.
Camera's are all good, although I'm still partial to Tele.
Speed is slightly faster, but very good IMO. Not an arcade feel to it at all.
Passing is much crisper, especially lobbed passes.

Again, all around a great game. Shame it's going to be out later here in the US. A real shame as a matter of fact. If it's region free, I just might spend the extra $$$ to import it.

Be a pro rocks

Somehow be a pro in madden, ncaa, and even player lock in nhl doesn't come close to this. I don't know if it's that you have capable AI teammates or if it's because you don't have to run poorly picked plays, or what, but it is just plain fun.

Great demo in that it got me interested in a game I had little to no interest in.

I agree with what has been said. After a number if games this is an excellent improvement over Fifa 08. The pace is very nice, the passing and shooting both improved and I too have seen better ball movement and creativity from the AI. I've been missing a broadcast camera angle and well... EA has delivered yet once again. I also noticed a different feel to the Be A Pro mode. AI, passing... it just felt better than before.

Why are we getting it a month later than Europe?

It's up on the UK store, so it could very well be coming to the US store later today.

Ok, this game is way too ****ing fun.

I just dominated Germany 4-0, Benzema and Malouda scored from outside the box on some disgusting shots.

Does anyone know if Euro 2008 will have the 7 on 7 online be a pro mode that Fifa 08 Online had? If so, count me in as this will be a must buy...The pace is soooo f'in perfect and everything that i hated about fifa 08 seems to be much improved. If only they could fix the F'in Defensive AI!!.....My teammates should be moving around at least!

No, it's going to suck.....because it doesn't have club teams and will only make me yearn for FIFA09 (I'm assuming the improvements will translate over, but then it's EA we are talking about here).

ie: If this is any indication of what FIFA09 can be, then I'm already in line for my copy.

Wow, awesome...gotta dl the demo myself tonight, but sounds like they've started tweaking the things we hate. I always got so annoyed when I'd have a pretty through ball that didn't do what it should.

Yep. Good point. I'm ready for FIFA 09 right now. I figure EURO 2008 will get me to NCAA 09 which will get me to FIFA 09. It'll be a bonus if Madden can help bridge the gap, but I'm not counting on it.

Agreed. If they just clean up some of the little stuff from 08 (mm, fouls, etc.) and then add more stadiums, and just insert this type of gameplay; FIFA 09 will be silly..

Anyone else digging the more emotional/passionate announcing, especially when goals are scored?

# 18 J-Unit40 @ 03/27/08 08:08 PM
Broadcast camera angle is back?! I've been waiting for that to come back since World Cup 06. Yes! Can we adjust the zoom or anything else? My guess would be no, but I had to ask.

I'll have to wait for the PS3 version to drop to download.

# 19 Seahawk76 @ 03/27/08 08:32 PM
Is there not going to be a Pro camera angle in this? That's what I've been using in FIFA 08.

You beat me to it. I love everything about this demo save the cameras. I play Fifa08 on World-Class with the Pro-Cam. I tried the End to End but its just too high and the pitch looks like its about the size of a foosball table. I just can't play sideways. On any sports game. But the gameplay is tight and the presentation is incredible! If they have Pro Cam I might have to score this!
