Hey you footie fans, IGN has posted another UEFA Euro 2008 blog on user controlled celebrations.

Quote:
"When watching football you often see many different celebrations after a goal has been scored depending on the individual and the importance of the goal. Peter Crouch will forever be associated with the Robot which you can now perform in our game but in reality he only did it a couple of times."

EA Sports is an absolute joke. Get the gameplay down first, and then innovate with these new and cool, yet largely irrelevant features. Watch them drop the ball again - the AI problems that were in FIFA 08 will be abundant in Euro 08.

I wouldn't be surprised

I was going to post the same thing. Fix the fouling, let us have multiple free kick formations, let us control how many people are in the wall, fix the goal keepers.

THEN add in the goal celebrations.

Hopefully EA will tweak the gameplay to what the posters above me have said. In their blog, it says they are making some changes to the gameplay, so I'm a bit hopeful. I'm not expecting anything major, but if they make it a bit more fast paced and easier to score, as well as making passing more crisp and having better control of your players in the air, the game will be tight. I'm really excited.

It comes out in April in Europe and May in the States. Does anyone know of a good site to import it from Europe? It will still play in an American PS3, correct?

I don't care for this feature, but its good to see EA have been a little bit more creative with their 360 Achievements - LINK

Some of the achievements ask you to complete a task in "Captain your Country" (such as qualifying for the Euro tournament as a striker) which to me sounds like a proper mode for Be a Pro as opposed to just to just a single match in FIFA 08.

Still, at this point i'm edging towards the Wii version of PES 2008, if i absolutely must buy a new soccer game in April.

ALL PS3 games are region-free so yes you can play a European version of the game. I don't really know of a UK/Aussie/Europe website that'll ship to America, but i'm sure someone on this forum can help out...

I dunno why they bother. Just like people never let you see a replay of your goal online, they will NEVER let you celebrate it. And I can't see them not allowing people to just press a button and advance past the cutscene.

Pretty much how I feel.

Let's face it, FIFA has and always will appeal to the casual gamer. The most important issues to them are licensed leagues, online play, and pretty graphics. When I read other forums I just laugh at these idiots that claim, "FIFA is the most realistic footy game ever". Goal celebrations cater to these people.
