Take-Two Interactive Software's stock has risen over 50% as of 4 p.m. this afternoon (Eastern Standard Time) to 26.46 after this weekends news that Electronic Arts is interested in buying the company. That number is up from the stocks open at 17.36. This is an interesting sign since Take Two "put off" negotiations until the day after Grand Theft Auto is released. You can track the stock at this link.

In similar news, Electronic Arts' stock is actually down 5% today. Check it out here.

I regret only buying 100 shares of Take Two a couple of weeks ago @ $15.56. I should've listened to my crystal ball and bought 200 shares instead. I also own 100 shares of THQI, I wonder if there's going to be talks of them being acquired.

It's just crazy how so much is based on speculation and guesses.

I would be a very happy man right now if I was a shareholder of Take Two...although one thing this could change is the value Take Two was priced at by EA. With the stock much higher, EA will have to offer more for the company, so the people buying into the company expecting a big pay-day in the coming months might adversely effect the deal and lose the value in their stock if the company doesn't sell.

Hence my dilemma, should I hold on to the stock or should I dump it.....

Looking at Yahoo and MS, Yahoo's share price spiked on MS's offer, and remained at that price level throughout. I hope the same goes for TTWO's price until another company can come up with an even more attractive offer.

Honestly AC, I would be extremely shocked if Take Two doesn't sell out by the end of this year to EA. As long as the chance is there, I'm sure the price will stay steady or even go up. It probably won't fall too much until after the second round of negotiations complete in some way IMHO. I'm not a business expert by any stretch of the imagination though so I wouldn't use my advice strictly

Too late, you've posted your advice on a public forum, therefore any material loss sustained with my porfolio regarding TTWO, you will be hearing from my team of lawyers.

This got me a ton of money on a stock market game project that we're doing for my Economics class.

Do you guys think the stock will continue to go up until the release of GTA IV??

And JJ-Thats odd that you said that, Take two just got me a better class in business because of this jump..I selected it because of the release of GTA

No way their stock keeps rising. They have been hurting for awhile. This is just the market adjusting to the EA takeover rumor.

Man - I always think about playing with some money in the market. This would have been great....

I agree Steeler, I wish I would've been proactive and jumped on this this weekend and rode it up today and sold it. You would have saw some significant gains today

I have to thank OS for the chatters regarding the possibility of Take Two being acquired. It heavily influenced my decision to buy it a couple of weeks ago. This is the next best thing to insider trading.
