GamePolitics has the scoop.
"GamePolitics readers will recall the controversy over O.J. Simpsonís inclusion in All-Pro Football 2K8, a lackluster pro football game released by 2K Sports in July.

According to TheStreet.comís Priya Ganapati Simpson was paid $50,000 by Take Two Interactive for the use of his name and likeness:

Simpson was paid $25,000 within 30 days of the contract being signed last January, with the rest scheduled to be paid within a month of the release of the game, according to a contract obtained by TheStreet.com between Take-Two and Justin Communications, which represented Simpson in the deal."

Why on earth would they pay him $50,000 to be in the game? That's a lot of money for a guy that would hardly generate additional sales figures. TT must have spent a ton of money on getting these legends in the game.

i think that with the goldmans' civil judgement against him they will likely get that $$$ or are in the process of getting it from oj. there is no way he can get out of paying that civil judgement. its iron clad from what i understand of it.

Is any one aggravated at the description of APF 2K8 as "lackluster?" What pro football game isn't "lackluster," then, if that's what APF 2K8 is?

We all know they are biased. They are casual fans, they can't appreciate the greatness of APF2K8. THEY DON'T KNOW FOOTBALL.

All sales figures point it to being lackluster. There is no other way to look at it....but thats been said for awhile now. No sense in bringing that up here.

Regardless of what people believe off the field, he was amazing on the field. Take 2 paid what they obviously thought he was worth.

But you don't pay someone relative to how good they were on the field. You pay someone to generate game sales. Elway, Barry, Marino, Rice, etc. were great on the field AND help sell games. I'm not sure having a murderer in the game really helped them sell more games. They could have saved that $50,000 and used it to buy a bunch more no name legends imo. Maybe they figured they would get a lot of free publicity by people talking about the controversy of having him in the game.

Im sick of O.J. I refuse to watch anymore news on him.I think anything about him just polarizes the country into a black vs white mentality.I refuse to let any news about him play in my home.People really need to get over these racial hangups. Its 2007 .As far as him finding the real killer.People get over it.He killed 2 folks and the Justice system said he was not guilty. His new case is just gonna again show how far Americans have to go as far as race. Its kinda sad we allow 1 man to cause so much division in this great country.Be nice if getting all child molesters locked up could get this much attention
