Played around with the Skate demo last night. Had a few nice lines going on, but the manual is kicking my ***. I can tell that I'll be spending a LOT of time w/ this game when it finally ships.

I also messed around with my router for entirely too long last night. Trying to figure out why I can't get my NAT to "Open" instead of "Moderate" in Xbox Live, as I can't connect to certain games until I get it fixed.

What's up with you?
  • QOTD: Are you a receiver switcher? Meaning, do you switch to the receiver after the pass is in the air or do you just let the AI handle it all?

Bioshock rules!!!!

QOTD - I go back and forth. Sometimes I use the WR, sometimes I'm too lazy to or too scared I'll mess it up..LOL

QOTD: I normally just let the AI do it, but lately I've been switching to manual and I think it's helping me. Can't prevent Charlie Frye from throwing bad passes, however.

I'm in a gaming nirvana right now - just picked up a Wii. I'm about to dive into Zelda and BioShock, just finished R6V and can't wait for Metroid! I haven't even had time to really start my Madden franchise!

QOTD: I too go back and forth - it depends on the situation.

I was also having problems keeping my NAT set at OPEN on xbox live. I was able to get it fixed by updating the firmware on my router.

QOTD: I just let the AI control the WR until after the catch.

QOTD: If it's just a hitch route or a quick slant or an intermediate route, I'll let the computer handle it, but if it's a deep pass with time for me to switch to the WR and go up and get the ball, I'll do that. Makes you feel like you actually "made" the play.

QOTD: I usually resist switching unless I can't complete a route at all, in which case I'll try and use my superior human skill to complete the pass.

Steve, the best thing I did was to open ports on my computer that xbox live needs.. I heard that even if the NAT says "open", it may not be entirely.

QOTD - sometimes I switch to the WR - however the times I do it does not work out too well for me..

I mostly don't switch to the receiver unless I need a big catch late in the game then I get tempted.....

You mean, on my router...right? I played w/ that thing for 4 hours last night.

Nothing going on here. I'm off the rest of the week. Company filed Chapter 11 two weeks ago. Still taking my paid vacation. Let see, I have a telephone interview for a new gig (trying to get out as fast as possible) scheduled in about 30 minutes. Afterwards, I'm going to go pick up Bioshock. I was waiting for payday friday but what the hell, i'm going to get it today.

QOTD: I'm a receiver switcher. Nothing burns me up more than letting the AI make the catch and the ball plunks the receiver in the hands. I then think, if I had controlled the receiver, the ball would've been caught.

Not much going on with me, I'm moving to Nacogdoches to go back to school tomorrow, so I've been busy packing..
QOTD: I always switch to the receiver, only way to play IMO.

I just read that Mike got the latest firmware.
I did that as well for my router, but it only worked for a little while.

I also tried opening the ports that it wants, but you run into a problem. A few of the routers that I've seen will only keep those ports open for a specific IP address. When your 360 changes to a new IP Address (if that's how you have everything - automatic settings) then you get stuck behind the router's firewall YET AGAIN. *sighs*

The solution that i found which is a little crazy sounding, was that I disabled the Hardware Firewall on my router. I still use the software firewalls on all of my PCs. Thankfully I've not been hacked into or anything crazy.

BUT!!!
My 360 is now always saying "open." My Wii connects AOK. But my PS3 says Nat 2 half the time (which = 360's Moderate). The PS3 is a cranky beast at times.

I hope that helps some.

Thanks DX, Dagger is going to try and help me tonight. Hopefully we can get it rolling again.

QOTD: It never had occured to me before a year ago when my friend let the AI catch the ball not to switch to the receiver. I've always done it and I always will.
