August 15, 2007 (Santa Monica, CA) – GGL, the leading media network dedicated to expanding and delivering the culture of gaming, announced that it will offer live online game tournaments for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) online titles through its users community. The agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) will further enhance the gameplay experience for passionate gamers allowing them to utilize the powerful GGL service, including real time scoring. GGL will be responsible for comprehensively producing and managing several integrated PS3 game tournaments.

Tournament gameplay kicked off July 7 with the best-selling launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man™. Registration for this tournament went live on June 18 and within the first ten days over 6,000 participants registered to compete. The tournament features a dual format of both one-on-one as well as three-on-three team competition, complete with an array of prize benefits for the winners. GameStop is the retail partner for this tournament and is actively encouraging their community to participate in the tournament and is lending other marketing and promotional support.

Tournament finalists will be flown to New York at GamePlay HD Studios in New York City, to battle it out and will appear in an episode for GGL and their forthcoming new TV series on video game tournaments.
