IGN has posted the following:
- NASCAR 08 Multiplayer Preview (360)
"We recently made the trek down to EA's Redwood Shores studio to take a look at the 360 build of the game that was only two weeks out from going gold and shipping off to manufacturing. The PS3 version was not available to be played. The online options in the game are admittedly, pretty slim. Essentially you and eleven of your friends can match up against one another and take your racing skills to any of the tracks in the game. In order to bring racers into the full experience of preparing for a race, players will have to go through the standard steps of prepping their car, practicing on the course, and qualifying; hopefully for pole position. You aren't forced to go through these steps, but it really does help to bring you more into the experience, and it builds some nice tension for the final race."
- NASCAR 08 Multiplayer Preview (PS3)
"Tuning your ride is of utmost importance, and how you tune your car is determined by the track that you're racing on. For the shorter courses, you'll want to lean towards acceleration rather than power, whereas the longer, superspeedway courses require a higher top speed. Then there are the road courses, easily the toughest and most frustrating of the bunch. Those dastardly little devils call for much lower top speeds, some serious grip on your tires, and pumped up acceleration. Even with all the right settings, the road courses can be a real frustration, and should only be taken on by the most serious of NASCAR fans."
