“Football Resurrected”?

5WG has posted an article entitled, “Football Resurrected”?
"Shawn Drotar: Last week, we discussed All-Pro Football 2K8, and mused about the possibilities of a true competitor to Madden and the hopes of a consumer-friendly competition once more. But now that the game’s official trailer has been released, I’m uneasy - the game looks just like NFL 2K5… which would be terrific if it wasn’t 2007. While it’s not fair to judge a game from a simple trailer, the fact that the game’s designers chose this footage to best represent their product is telling - Mark, what do you think we’ve learned?

Mark Fossen: We’ve learned that the three years that have passed since the release of the near-perfect NFL 2K5 were not spent in development of this game. This looks like NFL 2K6 at best, not like a true next-gen title that’s keeping up with the Joneses …. or the Maddens in this case. The perception here is fascinating: when EA releases a similar shoddy upgrade with Madden 06 on next-gen platforms, they are thoroughly lambasted… when 2K does it, they are scrappy underdogs who are fighting the good fight."

Showtime Boxing Features (Wii)

ZOO Digital Publishing has posted some features for Showtime Boxing.
"Lace up your gloves and make your way to the ring as Showtime Boxing is about to punch its way onto the Nintendo Wii. You will have to box your way through the ranks if you want to make it to the big time. Featuring all the style and presentation of a big Showtime event this promises to be a real knockout."

PSX Extreme Update (PS3)

PSX Extreme has posted the following:
  • Hot Shots 5 Amasses 300,000 Pre-Orders In Japan
"We all know the PS3 needs those huge titles scheduled for 2007 to help increase sales, and Sony could especially use the boost in Japan. However, certain franchises do much better there than here, and one of those is the Hot Shots Golf series. Japan is eagerly anticipating Hot Shots Golf 5, scheduled to release this fall. But we had no idea they wanted it this badly..."
  • Moto GP 07 Features Announced
"With the Moto GP license in the hands of Capcom allowing only them to use the license on the PlayStation brand, the publisher was quick to announce that they'd be developing their first moto game for the PC and the PlayStation 2. Personally, I'd have much rather preferred to see a stunning all new motorcycle entry on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but I digress. Today, Capcom sent us a list of features that'll be present in the new game. You'll find the standard stuff like full season racing, customized seasons, and quick-races for one or two players."

SEGA Rally Revo Coming (PSP)

Gameinfowire has the story.
"SEGA of America, Inc. today announced that SEGA Rally Revo will be racing its way onto the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system. SEGA Rally Revo for the PSP system is being developed by racing game specialists Bugbear Entertainment Ltd. and is scheduled for release in Fall 2007. Already announced for PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PC, SEGA Rally Revo is receiving a stream of plaudits from the media for its fast-paced, arcade-style racing."

TrackMania: United Preview (PC)

Super Punch Out!! 'Prize Fighter' Ad

Other Stuff...

I guess it's pretty safe to say the Cavs are done, huh? The Cavs did have plenty of chances to win the game and yes, Bron was definitely fouled on the last shot, no idea what the ref was thinking, but even before that, the Cavs had their opportunities, but it seemed like they had a lid on their basket. I was hoping for a Cavs win, just to make the series interesting, but it looks like it's over now.

I tried to schedule my test, but I can't take it until July 2nd. So I will just continue to study and be even more ready for it at that time. No big deal, next test I'll register way ahead of time.

What's up with you?

Cavs in 7!!!

QOTD - Cavs offseason, I move Hughes for something. Release Pollard, Wesley, Amon Ones. I also make a play for a shooting guard if we don't feel Shannon Brown can be that guy.

I'm glad EG's still has some hope. I was pretty deflated after last night. I don't know how many times I screamed "Stop shooting 3's! Take the ball to the @#$#ing basket!!" Oh well, it was a helluva run.

QOTD-I'd try to move Hughes, but his value is less than zero thanks to his contract. The Jazz want to dump AK-47, so how about an exchange of bad contracts? Mike Brown would love Kirlenko's defense and maybe his offense would come around playing with LeBron. He can't be an worse than Hughes at this point. I'd also like to trade Jones, Marshall, and Newble in some combination to Denver for Reggie Evans. I'd re-sign Pavlovic and Varejao and maybe use the mid-level exception on a shooter (Jason Kapono?).

Starting 5:
SG-Pavolvic (or Shannon Brown)

Gooden for offense, Varejao for hustle, Kapono for shooting, Evans for rebounding, and Snow for D.

QOTD: The Bulls need to trade their 9th pick. I cannot see anyone out of this draft besides Oden or Durant that's going to help them next year. And unless Kevin Pritchard(Portland GM) or Sam Presti (Seattle GM) are that stupid to trade us their picks then it's highly unlikely we're going to get either of those players. Now their has been a rumor swirling around about Shawn Marion being traded and one of the possibilities is the Bulls. I'd stay far away from that trade as possible. I like Marion but he'll fit with the Bulls like a sqaure peg would fit in a round hole.

5WG smell like EA money all the way. Next gen values in that article is based on gfx only, damn what a bunch of morons.

QOTD: Send down Kip Wells, call up Anthony Reyes, do whatever we need to do to acquire Mark Buehrle, and wait for us to win the NL Central.

You probably don't want to say that, lest fossen and sdrotar come around this thread.

I only hope your other 31 posts contained such wisdom and insight.

Not sure what we[family] are going to do, but I hope it doesn't come down to putting her to sleep. It might just be hip dysplasia(sp), which is treatable. We will see.
Good luck, Eights, man... I feel bad for you and your dog. Hopefully the right thing happens for her.

QOTD: If I was the GM of the Cubs, I would trade Carlos Zambrano, before he walks out on us this summer.
# 10 bergie56 @ 06/13/07 05:25 PM
If I were the Twins GM I would callup the D-Rays to see if they would bite on Scott Baker and parts for Ty Wiggington and then offer Torii Hunter to the highest bidder.

I signed up 2005, havenīt felt a need to post all the time. But that article seemed to base Next-gen values on GFX, and for me, thatīs kind of unfair .
Maybe I overreacted, but that article seemed uneccesary to write without playtime of a representative build.

Double Eights... all the best for you & your dog.. I know how tough it is - still miss my buddy to this day).. hope it is something treatable...

Well yesterday we had my brother's batchelor party... not anything wild or crazy.. went fishing in the AM & for the first time ever in my life, I got sea sick (the ocean was a tad on the rough side).. later in the day, 12 of us went to the Yanks/D-Backs game.. Too bad I was wiped out as my bro & some buds went out later (guess I am getting old )..

QOTD- Taking the place of Minaya in the Mets' office, I would be looking to trade Heilman & Milledge for pitching help... I would also like to try a Delgado for Helton trade (I know I lose power, but at least Helton can hit in the clutch situation)..
