Mario Strikers Charged Preview (Wii)

NintendoWorldReport has posted their preview of Mario Strikers Charged.
"The game primarily uses the classic two-handed control scheme with the Nunchuk attachment, but shaking the Wii Remote allows players to direct physical attacks at their opponents. A new power shot meter adds a little more Wii-specific gameplay. Once charged, the offense can launch a Mega Strike kick, which will send multiple balls at the goalie. The goalie, using the Wii Remote as a pointer directing a pair of hands, must block each ball in first-person view."

Video Racing Games May Spur Risky Driving

Reuters have posted an article entitled, Video Racing Games May Spur Risky Driving.
"People who play car racing video games may be more prone to drive recklessly and get into accidents, according to a study that adds to evidence that video games can influence the behavior of some players.

The study by German researchers published on Sunday examined the effect these games, featuring realistic driving environments with players often racing through city and suburban traffic, affect people who play them."

Other Stuff...

Not too much longer now, as we've come down to decision time on the countertop and appliances. Hopefully, we order the appliances today and the countertop tomorrow. That is what I'm hoping for, at least.

I've joined a 35 and over basketball league and it starts on Tuesday. I'm 34, but it seems like they don't mind. Should be a lot of fun.

What's up with you?

My bracket got killed yesterday, I had Texas winning the whole thing.

I had freakin' Maryland in the Finals. At least OSU is still alive, I have them winning it all.

My brackets is taking a beating. I only have 8 teams left for my sweet-16. The teams that I have left are: Florida, Oregon, Kansas, Southern Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Memphis. I guess 50% ain't bad. Only one of my Final Four teams got knocked out and that was Texas. The rest of my Final Four teams is still alive in: Oregon, Kansas and Ohio State.

Top 10 Games That Hurt Your Brain

1st place : Ghosts ‘N Goblins Series, Capcom - Various: Capcom’s famous adventure games give people migraines, thanks to extremely tough bad guys and seemingly impossible jumps. The heroic knight Arthur springs into battle, only to be cut down by waves of zombies, crows, man-eating plants and ghosts. Scores of gamers admit to slamming controllers and punching walls in disgust after failing to reach even the second level, and those lucky enough to reach the end of the original game must go back to the beginning and start over in order to beat it.

8th place: Battletoads, Tradewest - NES: Rare’s side scrolling beat-em-up pits three muscle-bound frogs against an evil space queen. Even with the assistance of a second player, the game can be quite the monster. For example, riding the speeder bikes in the third level forces players to avoid walls and hit ramps to avoid falling into an abyss. The snow levels contain icicles and nasty snowmen, as well as slippery ice on the ground. Don’t bother using a Game Genie - the game has insurmountable odds to overcome even with a cheating device.

Me and my guy were just talking about these 2 games the other day. Battletoads got the brunt of the conversation. I remember that speedbike level like it was just yesterday. Noboody could beat that level. As for Ghouls and Goblins, making it all the way to the end only to have to do it again sucked royaly. I think you had to go to a lava stage and the game pretty much started over after that. Great programming, dont ya think?

An honorable mention should of went to River City Ransom, the game that seemingly had no ending.

As for whats up. Nothing much. Been kicking it a little to hard lately. The last 4 weekends all start with me leaving the crib friday to go to work and not coming home till sunday evening. Had alot of little "adventures" during this period. Cant even imagine how its gonna get when it actually gets hot outside.

Don't worry, they'll be eliminated Thursday night

QOTD:

I've got 10 of the Sweet 16 right, 7 of my Elite 8 are still alive, and all 4 of my Final Four teams are hanging in there.

11 Sweet 16 teams left...8 Elite Eights and all 4 Final Four picks are left

# 13 Easton @ 03/19/07 11:59 AM
13 of 16 Sweet 16 teams still in. Not bad, since I had 2 Sweet 16 teams gone after the first round! All Elite 8 and Final Four teams still alive.

# 14 cjonesfan921 @ 03/19/07 12:13 PM
I got 13/16 Sweet 16 teams right. And lost 1 Elite 8 team thanks to the Longhorns. Still got all my Final 4 teams to i'm in decent shape, at least better then Acid.

# 15 Bird006 @ 03/19/07 02:30 PM
I was winning the OS group and was 11-0 on SS teams, up until Wisconsin lost. It was all downhill from there...

Yeah, but I don't drive a chick car.

So in the end, I win.

My 20 different brackets are all screwed. The one i am most po'd about is the Nevada to win the championship one.

One year it's upsets the next it's the favorites.

# 18 JohnnytheSkin @ 03/19/07 08:41 PM
QOTD: My bracket actually looks pretty good. I have 12 of the 16 teams, all eight Elites and beyond, and after a great weekend I'm leading my wife's office pool by a few points. Not too shabby!

# 19 ZM Punk @ 03/19/07 10:05 PM
QOTD: I still have all my Final Four teams (Kansas,Georgetown,OSU,and Florida) but other than that the rest of my bracket is pretty much screwed.
