PSX Extreme Update (PS3, PS2)

PSX Extreme has posted the following:
  • MLB 07: The Show Preview (PS3)
"There is some question as to how exactly this process will work. For example, is it really true-to-life, with the real challenge revolving around getting on a MLB team and staying on the team? After all, minor leaguers get called up all the time, perhaps to temporarily replace an injured player, but many times (in fact, most times), they end getting sent back down. Worst of all, if it’s a temporary gig and they tell you as much ahead of time, it almost doesn’t matter how well you perform when at “The Show;” it’s a given that you’ll be back in the minor league doldrums once the stint is over. In other words, how much control does the league have over you? And how much real control do you have over your advancement? We assume playing well moves you forward, but you always need a bit of luck, too, and there’s no telling where you’ll end up."
  • Hot Shots Demo Moves Closer (PS3)
"So let's say you've set a certain date to release your product, but you're suddenly concerned about that date posing a problem. Well, you could delay it and annoy some people, or you could be all consumer friendly and move it up. SCEA has chosen the latter approach with the Hot Shots Golf 5 playable demo, which will now be available on the Japanese Store on March 16."
  • Sony Ships MotorStorm (PS3)
"After months of anticipation, Sony has finally shipped MotorStorm. Developed by the gang at Evolution Studios, who are no strangers to mud and racing (WRC series), MotorStorm is easily one of the best looking next-gen console titles out there. It comes highly recommended to those looking for an addictive online experience, but don't bank on it having a very expansive single-player component."
  • Test Drive Unlimited Goes Gold (PS2)
"Atari has announced that Test Drive: Unlimited for both the PS2 and PC has officially gone gold. Meaning, the game is complete and will be shipping to stores March 20th, as planned. The PC version will be available via digital download by the time you read this, so head over to Atari.com to secure your PC copy straight onto your hard-drive."

Test Drive Unlimited Broken? (360)

Boomtown has the scoop.
"Atari released an auto update to the game that has caused as many problems as it has solved and shows no interest in explaining these updates to the game's community.

In fact it's pretty hard to actually work out what has changed. The patch seems to have enabled Force Feedback for the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, but not in any way one would like. Implementation of feedback is so poor using the wheel is less fun than it was before its introduction."

GDC 07: The Forza Motorsport 2 Super Set Up (360)

Check out the video clip posted at Kotaku, showing off a super setup for Forza Motorsport 2. The guy drives about as well as Clay.
"This clip shows the much-more reasonable four monitor scenario, with a tiny Lilliput LCD screen taking on rearview mirror duties. Honestly, when I played, I didn't once look at it, but I was going up against ghost data, not any real competition. Watch, in this exclusive clip, Wired's Chris Kohler show why he should stick to Mario Kart."

SBK '07: Superbike World Championship Preview (PSP)

PSP World has posted their preview of SBK '07: Superbike World Championship.
"While the Race Team mechanics and technicians are tweaking their bikes to extract the last drop of power ahead of this year's championship, at Milestone studios the engineers are optimizing the bikes physics, acceleration and speed in order to deliver the SBK bike experience to race fans everywhere. While at the same time adapting and tweaking the AI to ensure each rider behaves as aggressively, daringling or insanely in the game as their real world counterparts."

Other Stuff...

Man, I now have a freakin' BLACK EYE from that "nose" incident the other day. F'ing sucks. Not too long ago I had a black eye, now a pattern is starting to form and my co-workers will think I'm a thug.

Anyways, we FINALLY WON A GAME, a LEGIT game! We won by a point after being down 44-30 at the half. We actually won 68-67. We started a full court press to start the 2nd half and we never stopped it. They turned the ball over a bunch of times and we won! I can't believe it. Maybe we can get on a winning streak to finish off the season going into the playoffs, hah. I was simply put, ON FIRE last night. I hit for 27 points, easily my best game of the season.

What's up with you?
  • QOTD: Let's say you had 3 wishes, what would they be?

QOTD:

My wishes?

1 - For as many wishes as I want (why doesn't anyone ever wish for THIS?)

2 - To have my dad live long enough to meet his (as of yet, un-concieved) grandkids.

3 - For "Wide Right" to transform into "Split the Uprights". Poor Norwood.

The 6th, 7th and 8th grade team I coach finally won. It was beautiful. They played as a team finally. Moving the ball around. Taking charges playing smart defense. This kid who asked me "how do I shoot a layup?" before the game it our two key, go ahead buckets. We have three games next week so it should be pretty interesting to see if we play like we did yesterday or the crappy, everyone for themself style we played the weak before.

Steve - great to hear you guys pulled it out in the b-ball game. However, your story hit home and reminded me of some CPU comebacks in College Hoops 2K7 where I am up by a good margin and they start pressing the heck out of me and I end up getting nudged in the end. I used to get all pissed off and scream at the screen yelling, "That's Bullsh.....t!". Well, now I can can reflect back and say that it is closer to reality than I once thought!

YOU'RE KILLING ME HERE!!!
