Force Feedback Wheel Won't Work With Playstation 3

GT Planet has the scoop.
"Let's all be very clear on this. Right now Force Feedback will not work at all in any wheel that you have or are currently thinking about getting for your PS3. Anything you hear about guys making theirs work by voodoo magic are completely wrong and are messing with you. While most of the current wheels like the G25 and DFP work on the PS3 they just simply won't use FF. Imersion holds the patents to the technology and Sony lost the lawsuit over this earlier this year. Microsoft lost as well when they were sued and since have paid their fines and paid licensing for the use of their patents. Sony (as a company) being who they are just won't concede that they lost and use technology (rightfully or luckily) patented first by Immersion. There was a recent survey of gamers recently that had one interesting fact. 53% of gamers who bought a PS3 had no idea the controllers would be rumbleless. Now they are finding out that stuff that does have FF or rumble won't work either."

Game Informer Online Hands On Previews (PS3)

Game Informer Online has posted the following hands on previews:
  • Gran Turismo HD Concept
"The meat of GT:HD Concept is its time-trial mode. You start out with one car, the Suzuki Cappuccino, and a single track, the Eiger Nordwand, a paved Alpine track with breathtaking mountain views and a few killer turns. If you beat the target lap time, a new car is added to your garage. Each car has its own goal time, so slower cars arenít necessarily at a disadvantage. This continues until youíve unlocked all ten cars in the demo. The roster is fairly diverse, and it even includes a Ferrari 599 Fiorano, the first time the manufacturer is represented in the GT franchise, which is nearly a decade old. Each car handles differently, and the game once again does a great job of conveying each modelís unique characteristics. While racing, you can admire your car in a third-person perspective or zoom inside the car for a closer look at the action."
  • Formula One Championship Edition
"Career mode is an interesting change of pace, letting players work their way up the ranks from humble beginnings. At the onset of career mode, players select their name, face, helmet style and nationality. Like career modes in other sports games, you get messages from your manager through an e-mail interface. You begin your career by trying out with one of several racing teams. Tryouts are a breeze. You just need to hit a target lap time, and youíre in. Afterward, youíre given an offer to race with that team. Career mode certainly has the potential to liven up the overall racing experience. It provides the feeling that youíre actually building up to something, rather than simply taking an established racing icon through the paces."

What's Up?

Guess what? I didn't get the Christmas tree put away. I will do it tonight, no question about it. Wifee is taking Nat out with some family, so I'll be sure to get it down and get a little gaming session in.

What are your thoughts on Cowher leaving the Steelers? I think he takes a year off and someone gives him megamillions. I wouldn't mind seeing him coach the Boys, lol. Somehow, I doubt he'd do that. Wouldn't shock me if the Skins contact him.

Work has been extremely busy, so I'm going to head on out.

Enough about me, what's up with you?

What's up?

FRIDAY!!!! I still haven't got any Xmas stuff down yet either, just the outside stuff. It's 59 degrees in Cleveland today. Um, it's January 5th!!!! WOW

This should be a good weekend, but next week is going to suck as it's my first full week in 3 weeks. UGH.

Wifey's B-Day tonight so we're off to dinner after we drop some jewelry on her. My family's B-Days all come boom-boom-boom after Christmas (3 this month - 1 in early Feb - mine is early March). Gets expensive, but at least we get 9 months off after that.

Totally getting into the Single Player of Rainbow Six: Vegas. Never really got into a FPS on console, but I'm playing this one a lot.

Also geeking on a new FOF2007 multi-player league with a bunch of OSers. Had our initial roster draft yesterday. I'm diggin' my team and ready to rock. The OSFL fears the Motor City Mechanics!

Ready for the weekend! Ready to shake this cold! Lost 7 pounds this week with this stupid *** cold. When I'm sick I don't eat. Now I feel week as hell.

TGIF! It's my wife's birthday too on Monday. We are having the family over for a party tomorrow. I need to pick up a gift (also jewelry since its something she didn't get on Christmas) and the cake today. I'm looking forward to watching some playoff football, especially with the NY teams in it on Sunday.

Yeah, not looking forward to a full week of work myself. Why can't we always have 3 day weekends.

TGIF!! though it means working the weekend once again oh well.. still have the decorations up in my pad - guess either i dont want to take it down, or more likely, LAZY .. nothing much new here, though it appears i may have to make a trip to the dentist as I have some some sort of pain in my gums (right where they took out my one wisdom tooth).. it's odd as it does not appear to be a cavity.. lucky me good news is that Art Shell resigned!!!

It's going to be so much fun, I've been having fun messing with the single player just to get used to the controls.

I'm ready for 2nd year Michigan DE Roger Boren to light people up.

I'm hoping to get into the single player of RS:V tonight as well. Every time I get into, a get a billion invites to join the session. I feel guilty and join, NOT TONIGHT! (I think...)

I wouldn't mind seeing the New York teams win, as long as there is a Cowboys win mixed in.

What's up? I'll tell ya whats up, the temperature. It was around 70 degrees today, with some brief severe weather this afternoon. Had a pine tree blow over, right on the edge of my property, and a few limbs that'll need to be cleaned up tomorrow.

Other than that, another usual Friday. Work, get paid, get lai..well not really. Wife is sleeping, and I'm fixing to get my gaming fix on. Ready for the playoffs to kick off, even though I can't figure out who in the hell I want to root for. Part of me says Dallas, part of my says Philly, maybe the Colts? Can Peyton finally win the big game? Or will he choke again?

Either way, should be an interesting weekend of football. My Falcons will be in Chicago this weekend, interviewing Ron Rivera, and possibly Mike Singletary. If not this weekend, then the first part of next week.
